Huawei announced a couple of tablets and a smartphone at the MWC 2014. Among the new series of devices, the MediaPad X1 is a 7inch tablet that comes with calling facilities. Apart from the calling feature on a 7inch device, it comes with a high resolution display and a quad-core processor from Huawei. It is made of Aluminum and looks gorgeous.
While Huawei is gearing up to release multiple products at the Mobile World Congress event here in Barcelona, we also have been using the Ascend G700 for a while now. The Ascend G700 is a mid range device from Huawei with a 5 inch 720p display and with capable mid range specs. It was priced in India for a Rs. 16,500 which will compete with the likes of the Moto G and the Micromax Canvas flagship. Before we complete the review, here are a few shots of the Ascend G700, a complete walk through in photos.
If you’re thinking that the phone in the photo above is a HTC device then you are probably wrong. According to the source, it is actually a device made by Huawei.

Huawei is gearing up to introduce a range of new products at the Mobile World Congress event this year, but before doing so, the Chinese company has readied a bizarre teaser to explain the kind of products it is launching. First off, why the video is bizarre is because it uses an “Apple” iPhone with a Siri-like voice assistant, to mock “Apple” and Samsung, calling them the “Fruit” and “Some song” respectively. Nevertheless, it gives us a taste of what we can expect from the company, when it reveals its products at this year’s biggest mobile event, the Mobile World Congress. Here’s the video –

With MWC just around the corner, it is highly possible that various products that are scheduled to make an appearance during the show are leaked prior to the show. That could be the case for Huawei’s Ascend P7 and MediaPad X1.

Huawei CEO, Richard Yu, took to Chinese micro-blogging site, Weibo, to announce the company’s new offerings in the mobile processor segment. The new chipsets includes two octa core chips and a quad core SoC.

Among the plethora of home appliances and tech gadgets that are announced and ready to be shown off at the CES 2014 in the coming days, there are rumors circulating that Huawei will announce a Windows Phone device in Las Vegas during CES 2014. International Data Corporation(IDC), the market research firm that usually outs numbers for the mobile phone market every quarter has something new to say this quarter. According to them, the first quarter of 2013 has been the first time ever in the history of the mobile phone market that the Smartphones have outshipped feature phones. The whole worldwide mobile phone market seems to have grown 4% this quarter. Samsung still remains the leader in the mobile phone market dominating sales in both smartphones as well as feature phones.

At an event here in Barcelona, Huawei which is one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers in the world has introduced its brand new flagship. The Huawei Ascend P2 powered by a custom designed 1.5Ghz quad core processor clocks in at just 8.4 milimetres. There’s Android 4.1 on board with a custom UI layer on top that Huawei calls the Emotion UI.
In terms of design the phone looks a lot like its predecessor, the Ascend P1. There’s 1GB of RAM onboard and 16GB of storage. Expected to be unveiled at CES in January, Huawei’s newest smartphone was shown off by Richard Yu. The Chairman of devices at Huawei flaunted the device at a store in Guangzhou yesterday. Called the Ascend Mate, the Android powered smartphone has a massive 6.1 inch 1080p screen with 361ppi.

Speaking on the Chinese social network, Weibo, Huawei Senior Vice President Yu Chengdong confirmed that Huawei is working on a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 competitor. The phone which has been rumored for a while is expected to ship with an absolutely massive 6.1 inch full HD display. The phone has been rumored to be called the Ascend Mate.

Third quarter of the year is usually really bad for mobile phone manufacturers as there are no huge celebrations where people buy devices and it is also the time where new devices are unveiled which will be launched during Christmas. So people tend to wait for Christmas time where all the mobile manufacturers try to bring in their best devices. Gartner’s research shows that mobile phone sales has gone down 3% compared to last year but in the same research smaprtphone sales has gone up 47%.
