Google to acquire 1.28% stake in Airtel, invest up to $1 billion

Airtel today announced that it signed a long-term, multi-year agreement with Google to accelerate the growth of India’s digital ecosystem. As a part of the deal, Google as a part of Google for India Digitization Fund will make an investment in Airtel, which will include a $700M equity investment (1.28% ownership in Airtel) and a corpus of up to $300M that will go towards implementing mutually agreed commercial initiatives over the course of the next five years. Google Maps Plus Codes now lets you easily save and share your home address in India

Google India today announced that Google Maps users can now access their current location to find the Plus Codes address for their home. Plus Codes are free, open-sourced, digital addresses that provide simple and accurate addresses for any place on Earth, including for places that don’t have accurate formal addresses, said Google. OnePlus launched the 9RT smartphone in India earlier this month. According to a leak from reliable OnePlus leaker Max J on Twitter, OnePlus is gearing up to launch the Nord CE 2 5G (codenamed Ivan), as the successor to last year’s Nord CE in India on February 11th. Windows 11: Android app support to roll out widely in February along with taskbar improvements and easier window sharing

Microsoft unveiled Windows 11 back in June 2021. At that time, the company said that it will be adding native support for Android apps via the Amazon App Store. The feature finally rolled out to Windows 11 Insider beta testers in the US back in October last year. Samsung once again posts all-time high revenue in Q4 2021 driven by strong sales of foldables, S series phones

Samsung has reported its earnings for Q4 2021 that ended December 31, 2021 in which the company posted 76.57 trillion won ($63.6 billion approx.) consolidated revenue, up 24.4% YoY which is the new high beating the previous record. This is due to finished product businesses, with expanded sales of premium smartphones, including foldable phones, as well as TVs and home appliances. MediaTek Kompanio 1380 6nm SoC for ultra-light premium Chromebooks, tablets announced

Acer at the CES earlier this month introduced its new Chromebook Spin 513 powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek Kompanio 1380 processor. Now, MediaTek has officially announced the company’s flagship Kompanio SoC which uses TSMC’s 6nm process tech. This has four high-performance Cortex-A78 cores clocked up to 3GHz and four Cortex-A55 power-efficiency-focused cores. There is a five-core Arm Mali-G57 GPU.
