Nokia Kinetic concept phone with flexible display hands-on
Nokia is demoing a concept phone with flexible display at Nokia World 2011 in London. The Nokia Kinetic by Nokia Research division works by bending and twisting the device in each corner in order to register input.
The Nokia Kinetic is a landscape device with two working applications, Music and Pictures, no doubt created as proof of concepts. For example bending in the device towards you will open the application.
Below is a video demo of the Nokia Kinetic and how it works. There are currently no plans to bring this screen technology to the market but this is merely a sneak into what Nokia has in store for us.

Garmin launches Garmin Fit app for Android and iPhone and ANT+ adapter
Garmin has launched their Garmin Fit app that would let the users track metrics such as speed, pace, distance, time, calories of their activities such as running, cycling and lots more. With the help of Garmin accessories it displays heart rate and cadence. It also maps and automatically uploads workouts to Garmin Connect. They have also launched their ANT+ adapter for iPhone allowing users to use their Garmin ANT+ accessories with their iPhone. Half a milion apps sold on the Android market.
The Android Market surpassed 500,000 applications in the month of September. Although more that 37% of submissions have been taken out over the course time for an assortment of excuses, the Android Market transcended 500,000 issued applications last month as recorded by a mobile app market intelligence firm research2guidance. This firm also stated that the Apple’s App Store has had more than 600,000 bestselling submissions till date having 24% of apps have been removed. This is what the firm had to say – “Although Apple regularly cleans up its store from inappropriate or outdated content, its active application share still exceeds that of Android,” it also stated about Apple – “It is likely that the more rigid application submission requirements prevent developers from publishing multiple trial or low quality applications whereas publishers in the Android Market place a lot of market testing, trials, demo and malware content.”

AT&T CEO says ‘Tremendous demand’ for free iPhone 3GS
AT&T noted that it sold a gross of 4.8 million smartphones in the interim of the third quarter, 2.7 million of them being iPhone activations. Highly astounding for a phone, that was released in June, 2009. After the debut of the iPhone 4S, Apple proclaimed that the 3GS was free with an AT&T contract and that the iPhone 4 would plummet to $99 with a contract.

iOS developers noted to make more profit from app sales than Google makes from its mobile business
Adhering to Google’s third-quarter earnings report in the previous week, David Barnard, founder of App Cubby, established an intriguing observation on his company’s blog, Google declared a run rate of $2.5 billion for its cellular ad revenue based on third-quarter earnings, up from $1 billion a year previously.
