Packing solid hardware and Android 4.0 with a promise for an update to Jelly Bean soon, there’s a lot to like about the Xperia Ion but will its slick looks be enough to dissuade users from competition like the HTC One X and the Galaxy S3 ? Read on to find out. Continue reading “Sony Xperia Ion Review”

Motorola RAZR i: It’s the RAZR we all know and love, but with Intel inside

Motorola has just unveiled the RAZR i this morning in the UK. It’s essentially the RAZR M that was announced earlier this month, but with an Intel chip instead of a Qualcomm chip. What you’re looking at above is a phone with a 4.3 inch qHD display, what we assume to be 1 GB of RAM, an Intel Atom with hyper-threading enabled that should be capable of delivering up to 2 GHz of performance, an 8 megapixel camera that’s supposedly very fast, and it runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It’ll get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, but we don’t exactly know when that’s going to happen. Continue reading “Motorola RAZR i: It’s the RAZR we all know and love, but with Intel inside”

Rumor: Samsung’s 12 megapixel camera sensor is now being mass produced

Weeks before Samsung’s 5.5 inch Galaxy Note II was announced, many of the rumor sites said it was supposed to ship with a 12 megapixel. That obviously didn’t happen, but it does bring up an important question: When will Samsung release devices with 12 megapixel cameras? We know megapixels aren’t everything, and that there are multiple factors, such as optics and ISPs, that contribute to image quality, but the geeks in us just want to know. Apple’s iPhone 5 allegedly costs $35 more to make than the iPhone 4S

Apple’s newest iPhone, the iPhone 5, is going to go on sale this Friday in America and in several major European and Asian countries. It has numerous new features, but what’s arguably most important is the screen. For the first time since the iPhone launched in 2007, the display is finally bigger than 3.5 inches diagonal. Now yes, 4 inches isn’t that much larger than 3.5 inches, but it’s still significant in today’s market when you consider that Samsung’s flagship device has a 4.8 inch display and Nokia’s upcoming Lumia 920 has a 4.5 inch display. Samsung: Ignore those Galaxy S IV rumors, they’re not true!

Yesterday we wrote up a rumor from The Korea Times that said Samsung was going to announce the Galaxy S IV in February 2013, ship it a month later, and that it’ll feature a 5 inch display. Samsung, not being all too thrilled with the internet talking about the next Galaxy S when the current Galaxy S is barely four months old, went on Twitter to say that the rumors are false. We’re not exactly surprised they’re saying that, but let’s step back for a second and think things through. Continue reading “Samsung: Ignore those Galaxy S IV rumors, they’re not true!”

Customers Line Up for iPhone 5 Outside Apple’s Fifth Ave Store

AppleInsider reports that customers have already started to wait in line for the iPhone 5 at Apple’s famous Fifth Avenue store in New York City. Around 10 people have lined up outside of the store to become the first to purchase the iPhone 5 on launch day. Customers will be able to purchase an iPhone 5 beginning 8 AM local time this Friday.

It is reported that most of the people waiting in line were hoping to gain attention for websites they were promoting. A reporter from CBS New York program “The Couch” was also present to interview those waiting.

Demand for the iPhone 5 has been incredible. Earlier this morning, Apple announced that over 2 million pre-orders for the iPhone 5 had been placed within the first 24 hours alone. Last year, the iPhone 4S sold 4 million over the launch weekend, making it the fastest iPhone selling it yet. The iPhone 5 is expected to easily beat that number. So much for a “disappointing” iPhone.
