Apple increases orders for iPad mini, projected to sell 12 million minis by year end

Previously the iPad Mini was expected to sell around 10 million, but now DigiTimes is reporting that Apple has increased the orders from 8 to 10 million, which means that Apple might be selling around 12 million of the 7.9″ iPad Minis.

Jabra has launched Jabra TOUR, Bluetooth in-car speakerphone in India. It has large 40mm 3-watt speaker that offers superior audio output and has HD Voice microphone for enhanced noise cancellation capabilities. This also lets you launch the Siri app on their iPhones to get driving directions,  create quick calendar entries and more functions with a dedicated Voice Command button. Reliance to test voice services on 4G networks

Coming from an Economic Times article, it looks like Reliance Industries limited (RIL) is all set to get approval from the telecom department (DoT) for testing voice services on its yet-to-be-launched 4G networks. This comes as a surprise as Airtel has been the only 4G player as of now, with limited network distribution.

RIM and Nokia enter into patent licensing agreement

To resolve existing patent litigation between RIM and Nokia, the two companies have decided to enter into a licensing agreement. Nokia had previously demanded  a sales injunction on BlackBerry over the Finnish company’s patents around WiFi networks. While the specific terms of the agreement remain confidential, the financial structure will include a one time payment and on-going payments to Nokia.

Samsung has started rolling out Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) update for the Galaxy Note 2 users in India. Flipboard for Android gets Tablet support finally

Filpboard, popular social magazine app for Android has been updated to version 1.9.14 that finally brings tablet support. This would let you browse the app easily on Android tablets with the new UI optimized for tablets. The tablet interface has a sidebar with topics and offers four pages of tiles to browse quickly. Samsung to show off 5.5-inch HD flexible smartphone display at CES 2013


Samsung Display would show off a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD Smartphone display with a pixel density of 267 PPI at CES 2013, according to a report from CNET. Samsung has patented the concept of foldable display in South Korea back in 2006, but they recently  acquired U.S patent for a foldable displays. Samsung unveiled a 4.5-inch (480 x 800 pixels) flexible AMOLED display with 207 PPI at CES 2011 that had a bending radius of 10 mm. SwiftKey now includes support for 54 different languages. Nuance introduced introduced support for Hinglish keyboard in Swype for Android earlier this year. Nokia Lumia 920 vs 808 Pureview vs Samsung Galaxy S3 Video Quality Comparison

We had just unboxed the Nokia Lumia 920 a few days back and are pleasantly surprised by its camera performance, especially in the video recording department. So, we gathered up two other phones(with point and shoot rivaling cameras) namely the Nokia 808 PureView and the Samsung Galaxy S3 from our labs and put the three to test in terms of full HD 1080p video recording.
