Airtel offers free Facebook access for prepaid customers for 1 month


Airtel has launched Free Facebook on Airtel offer for their pre-paid customers that would let them access Facebook for free till 15th February 2013 without any extra packs. This would let the customers enjoy Facebook mobile application access with up to 500MB of free monthly usage. Airtel had offered free access on Facebook app for Java phones and free Mobile Twitter access for a period of 3 months, few years back. LG rubbishes Nexus 4 supply issues and new Nexus device

Just some time back Google was talking about the supply of the Nexus 4 from LG scarce and erratic. The devices went out of sale from the Play store real quick and haven’t found its way back since then. There were also reports about LG stalling Nexus 4 manufacturing as it will be bringing a new Nexus device and LG has scrapped this news too.

Leak reports Gtalk and Twitter to be integrated with BB10 O.S

Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus with Android 4.0 image and specs surface

Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus (GT-S5301), successor of the Galaxy Pocket has surfaced online along with the complete specs. The design looks similar to the Galaxy Pocket. According to SamMobile, it would have similar features including a 2.8-inch QVGA capacitive touch screen display, 2 megapixel camera and a 1200 mAh battery. It would run on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Samsung announced the Galaxy Pocket in March last year, that launched in India in April. Acer ICONIA B1 7-inch Tablet with Android 4.1 launched in India for Rs. 7999

Acer has launched the ICONIA B1, the company’s first affordable Android tablet in India. It was announced last week at CES 2013. It comes with a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive multi-touch display, runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Mediatek MT 8317T processor. Lenovo K900 hands-on


Lenovo unveiled the IdeaPhone K900, the company’s latest smartphone powered by the 2 GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2580 (Clover Trail+) processor with SGX544-MP2 dual-core graphics at CES 2013 last week. Here we have the hands-on video and images from the Lenovo’s booth at the CES. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p Full HD IPS display with at 400+ PPI pixel density and Gorilla Glass 2 protection. The front-facing camera has a 88 degree viewing angle. Since the device was an early prototype, we couldn’t test out the software. It is expected to run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) at the launch.

Apple iPad 4 vs iPad 3, is it worth the upgrade?

Earlier this month, we unboxed the Apple iPad 4 and have been testing it out in our labs for our upcoming review. At the same time, we have also been pondering why Apple released an iPad so soon, over the iPad 3. It was widely believed that the iPad 3 lacked in performance due to the burden that the retina display that brought with it. ZTE Grand S hands-on Video


ZTE, popular Chinese phone maker unveiled the Grand S at CES 2013, and you saw the photo gallery of the phone last week. Here we have a hands-on video that shows the hardware and the software of the device. The Grand S is the ZTE’s first handset to feature a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) display. It has a 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 pro processor and runs on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean). There is a 2MP front-facing camera at the top.

Sony Xperia ZL hands-on Video

Sony unveiled the Xperia ZL along with the Xperia Z at the CES 2013 last week. You saw the Xperia ZL photo gallery, and here we have the hands-on video of the device from the CES. The Xperia ZL has a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) Reality display with mobile Bravia Engine 2 and a 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor similar to the Xperia Z. The phone has a unique design and has a plastic back, unlike the Xperia Z that comes with a glass back. There is a glowing LED indicator below the display and the phone also has an IR transmitter. The phone has metallic finish on the sides and the top. It runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with Sony’s UI on top.

Asus MeMO Pad 7-inch tablet running Android 4.1 announced

Asus has announced the MeMo Pad, their new affordable 7-inch tablet after the CES 2013. The Asus MeMO Pad has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive multi-touch display and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), similar to the Acer Iconia B1-A71 that was announced at CES last week, but this tablet is powered by a 1GHz WonderMedia PRIZM WM8950 processor instead of a dual-core Mediatek processor. It has a 1MP front-facing camera with BSI sensor, 720p HD video capture at 30 fps. It has non-slip diamond-patterned finish at the back. Exynos 5 Octa by Samsung reportedly features PowerVR SGX 544MP3

Samsung announced this CES the Exynos 5 Octa which has 4 ARM Cortex A15 cores and 4 ARM Cortex A7 cores for power management with whats called as Big little configuration. Now Samsung is known to boast their GPUs, but during their Octa announcement, they did not talk about the GPU they were using and Anandtech is now reporting that Samsung is using the PowerVR SGX 544MP3 GPU at 533 MHz.

Apple cutting down iPhone 5 components due to lower demand than expected

Apple has been dominating the smartphone and tablet market from quite some time, but there seems to be a problem in their camp as there have been reports of Apple cutting down their order for the screens of iPhone 5 by almost half for the first quarter of 2013.
