Aircel has tied up with Wikimedia Foundation to offer free access to Wikipedia on mobile phones for their customers. This is the first service of its kind to formally launch in India. New Google Nexus 7 coming soon to India
Google unveiled the new Nexus 7 few hours back. The Nexus 7 comes in 3 variants, 16GB WiFi, 32GB WiFi and 32GB 4GLTE. Google announced that the WiFi version of the Nexus 7 (2013) would go on sale first in the U.S starting from July 30th over Google Play and several local retailers. It also announced that the Asus-made Nexus 7 tablet would be available United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Spain, France, Japan, Korea, and Australia in the coming week with other countries to follow soon after. HTC has official launched Desire 600 Dual SIM in India. It was announced back in May and went on sale in India earlier this month. It has a 4.5-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) pixels super LCD2 display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 MSM8625Q processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) . It has a 8-megapixel camera on the back with LED flash, BSI sensor and a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera with BSI sensor. Google Chromecast launched for $35, lets you stream video and more on your TV from your phone or laptop
Google has announced a new product called Chromecast that allows you to use your phone, tablet or laptop to cast online content to your TV screen by plugging the Chromecast device in to your high-definition (HD). It works with Netflix, YouTube, Google Play Movies & TV, and Google Play Music and more. Google promises that more apps like would be available soon. Google announces Nexus 7 (2013) 32GB with global 4G LTE support at $349
Google announced the new Nexus 7 at an event in New York few hours back starting at $229 for the 16GB Wi-Fi model. It also comes in 32GB Wi-Fi model that costs $269. Google has also announced the 32GB model with global 4G LTE support at $349. The first Nexus 7 came only with 3G HSPA+ support that new Nexus 7 also comes with 4G LTE support apart from 3G HSP+. Since these support global LTE bands (700/750/800/850/1700/1800/1900/2100/2600 MHz) it will work on all the LTE networks other than the 2300 MHz TDD-LTE network.

New Nexus 7 announced with Full HD display, Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU and Wireless Charging starting from $229
Google announced the new Nexus 7 today at an event in San Francisco where the updated Nexus 7 tablet was one of the main highlights of the event. We have seen plenty of leaks of this device including an unboxing so not much was left for the official announcement except for the confirmation of the specs , the pricing and launch date. The biggest difference on this Nexus tablet is the update Full HD screen which makes it the highest resolution screen on a 7 inch tablet and also crushes the competition especially the iPad mini. It is the first tablet to run Android 4.3 out of the box which we have covered separately. The new Nexus 7 is marginally thinner than the first gen Nexus 7 and lighter too. It is slightly narrower than the previous model. Another big change is the move from Nvidia Tegra 3 to a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor in terms of the internals. And yes it is still made by Asus. BlackBerry A10 surfaces in hands-on images and video
Rumored specifications of the upcoming BlackBerry A10 surfaced last week. Vietnamese website that posted images of the images of the battery cover of the device has posted the hands-on images and a video of the device. Specifications of the device matches the earlier rumors. It would feature a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD Super AMOLED display, powered by a 1.7 GHz dual-core Snapdragon MSM8960 Pro processor and run on BlackBerry OS 10.2. Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL) that provides telecom services under the MTS brand has expanded its CDMA EV-DO Rev.B Phase II network to 4 more cities, Bhiwadi, Jodhpur, Kota and Udaipur in Rajasthan. MTS launched the world’s first CDMA EV-DO Rev.B Phase II network in India back in September 2011 starting from Jaipur. At that time MTS had also launched MBlaze Ultra dongle that offers internet speeds of up to 9.8 Mbps. Samsung begins mass production of 3GB LPDDR3 RAM for mobile devices
Samsung Electronics has announced that they have started mass production of 3 gigabyte (GB) low power double data rate 3 (LPDDR3) mobile DRAM, for next-generation smartphones. This is industry’s first high-capacity RAM since most of the high-end smartphones use 2GB of RAM. The Samsung 3GB LPDDR3 mobile DRAM uses six 20-nanometer (nm) class 4 gigabit (Gb) LPDDR3 chips. LG reports net profit of $139 million in Q2 2013, record 12.1 million smartphones shipped
LG Electronics has announced their earnings for Q2 2013. They have reported net profit of 156 billion Won (US$ 139.4 million) with operating profits of 479 billion Won (US$ 426.92 million). In the mobile communications sector it reported operating profit of 61 billion Korean Won (US$ 54.37 million), which is 35% more compared to Q2 2012, but it is 3% less QoQ. LG shipped 12.1 million units of mobile phones in Q2 2013, a 17 percent increase compared to previous quarter and a 112% Increase YoY. This is a new quarterly unit sales record for LG. Best Buy, one of the popular online retailer in the U.S has put up the New Nexus 7 for pre-order at $229.99 and $269.99 for the 16GB and 32GB variants. Unboxing images and video of the device surfaced earlier today, now the images and the complete specifications of the tablet has been revealed in the official listing. It has a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1920 by 1200 10-finger capacitive touch screen IPS display with 178 degrees viewing angles at 320 ppi pixel density and scratch-resistant glass, powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 processor and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean).
