S Mobility has launched the Spice Smart Flo Edge Mi-349, an entry-level Android smartphone in the Smart Flo series. It went on sale online yesterday along with the Spice Smart Flo Ivory 2 Mi-423 and packs a 3.5-inch (480 x 320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display. It is powered by a 1 GHz processor, runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and comes with 2G (EDGE) support and dual SIM capabilities. It has a 1.3-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It packs a 1500mAh that offers up to 6 hours of talk time and up to 120 hours standby.

Motorola has announced Project Ara that is aimed at developing a phone platform that is modular, open, customizable. The project that is similar to Phonebloks is led by Motorola’s Advanced Technology and Projects group, which is an open hardware platform for creating highly modular smartphones. The design for Project Ara consists of an endoskeleton (endo) and modules. The endo is the structural frame that holds all the modules in place and the module can differ from a application processor to a new display, keyboard, an extra battery or anything. Apple has reported revenue of $37.5 billion with a net profit of $7.5 billion in their earnings for Q4 2013 that ended September 28, 2013. The international sales in this quarter is 60% of the quarter’s revenue. They sold 33.8 million iPhones, 14.1 million iPads and 4.6 million Macs during the quarter. During the conference call Apple CEO Tim Cook said that they have sold 150 million iPhones in the fiscal 2013 and are pleased with the iPhone sales in Russia, India, Middle East, and Latin America. Spice Smart Flo Ivory 2 Mi-423 and Smart Flo Edge Mi-349, two new Android smartphones from the Smart Flo series is now available in India from online retailer Saholic. The Smart Flo Ivory 2 Mi-423 is the successor of the Smart Flo Ivory Mi-450 that was launched back in May. It has a 4-inch (480 x 320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). The Smart Flo Edge Mi-349 has a 3.5-inch (480 x 320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). Samsung launched the Galaxy Golden, the company’s latest smartphone with dual displays in Korea back in August. Now the phone is available is available for pre-order from online retailer Flipkart and is available for purchase from Infibeam. The Galaxy Golden (GT-I9230) has a similar specifications as the Korean version including a dual 3.7 inch (800 x 480 pixels) Super AMOLED displays, 1.7 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor and Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 1.9-megapixel camera. However this lacks 4G support present in the Korean version of the Galaxy Golden (SHV-E400) .
