Meizu has announced m2, successor of the Meizu m1 at an event in China. It packs a 5-inch HD screen with a screen-to-body ratio of 75.6%, is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core 64-bit MediaTek processor, compared to the MT6732 SoC on the predecessor and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with FlyMe OS. LG Electronics has reported revenues of 13.99 trillion won (US$ 12.69 billion) in Q2 2015, which is 0.5% down compared to the same quarter last year with operating profit of 244.1 billion won (US$ 222.52 million), down 60% percent from the same period the previous year. Net profit was 226.4 billion won (US$206.38 million) during the quarter, down from 411.8 billion won a year earlier. Samsung has already sent out invites for an Unpacked event on August 13th where it will announce the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. Now, the Wall Street Journal says that the company may also unveil the Gear A smartwatch along the two phones at the same event.
Twitter has announced that it recorded $502 million in revenue for Q2, 2015 up more than 60 percent over this same time last year. Analysts had expected lower revenue of $487.4 million for the company this quarter.
