Xiaomi has announced that 60,000 units of Remi 1S smartphones would be available in fourth flash sale in India. This is 20,000 more than first three sales. It took 3.4 seconds for the company to sell 40,000 units in its third sale earlier this week. This is less than both the first and second sales. Amazon announces new Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 with Snapdragon 805

Amazon has updated its Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 tablet. It has a that same 8.9-inch ( 2560 x 1600 pixels) display, but now it is powered by a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 805 processor, instead of Snapdragon 800 on last year’s Fire HDX 8.9. It runs on the new Fire OS 4.0 Sangria based on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with 5P f/2.2 lens and a front-facing 720p HD camera. Amazon has introduced the Fire HD 6 and has also upgraded last year’s Fire HD with a faster processor. The Fire HD 6 and H7 have 6-inch and 7-inch 1280 x 800 pixel displays, faster 1.5 GHz quad-core processors, 2MP rear and a VGA front-facing camera. These run on Fire OS 4 Sangria based on Android 4.4 KitKat. Both these have 1GB of RAM and come in 8GB and 16GB variants. These don’t have LTE support. Amazon has introduced new Fire OS 4.0 – Sangria, the next generation Fire OS software and the successor of Fire OS 3.0 Mojito that was introduced last year. It is based on Android KitKat and has user interface with one tap access to apps, Profiles to share the device with family members, ASAP (Advanced Streaming and Prediction) which predicts the movies and TV episodes you’ll want to watch and starts them instantly, Amazon cloud for cross-platform syncing and more. Amazon has introduce Kindle Voyage, the company’s new eBook Reader. The 7th generation of e-ink Kindle has a 6-inch display at 300 PPI pixel density and the the built-in light has a new display technology with higher contrast that makes it 39% brighter. It has a new light sensor on the top so that front light automatically adjusts the brightness of the display based on the surrounding light. We brought you the unboxing and the photo gallery of the tablet recently, here are the benchmarks of the tablet. It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT8382 SoC clocked at 1.3GHz with Mali 400-MP2 GPU and has 1GB RAM. It has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) multi touch IPS display. MediaTek to embed Opera Max into MT6752 and MT6732 64-bit LTE SoCs

MediaTek has  entered into a partnership with Opera Software to embedded Opera Max data saving app into the MediaTek’s new 64-bit LTE SoCs MT6752 and MT6732. Both these chips are targeted at super-mid market where consumers are seeking high-performance smart devices at an affordable price. This would enable smartphones powered by these chips to consume half as much the data within the same monthly plan at no extra cost, says Opera.
