Microsoft today announced that it has started rolling out Windows 10 Mobile update to select Windows Phone 8.1 devices, after several delays. “Consistent with our approach to the Windows 10 PC upgrade, we are focused on delivering a high quality experience for our customers,” said Microsoft.
Twitter has updated its universal native Windows 10 app which now works for Windows 10 Mobile as well. The Windows 10 Mobile app brings all the popular feature from its Android and iOS counterpart.
HERE Maps has announced that it is taking down its app from the Windows 10 store. The app will not be available from March 29 on the Windows Store.
Back in October soon after the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL smartphones running Windows 10 Mobile were introduced, Microsoft said that Windows 10 update will be rolling out for existing Windows Phone 8.1 devices in December. In yet another pivot, Microsoft has finally announced that it will rebrand Windows Phone as Windows 10 Mobile. This practically brings it full circle to the first effort that the company had made in the mobility space.
