Airtel, which is on a roll by expanding its 4G services to a number of cities in India is planning to launch 4G branded smartphones in India, as per a latest report from PTI.
LG has announced Bello II, the successor of last year’s L Bello. It has the same 5-inch FWVGA screen, is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and comes with a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, but this runs on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) and has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy Tab S2, successor of last year’s Galaxy Tab S series. These come in 8-inch and 9.7-inch variants and pack Super AMOLED displays at QXGA resolution, are powered by a Octa-Core Exynos SoCs and run on Android 5.0 (Lollipop). These have a 8-megapixel rear camera without LED flash and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. These are just 5.6mm thick, making it the world’s thinnest tablets currently. It can monitor steps walked, calories burnt, daily goals reached, tracks your sleep and also offers notification for incoming calls and messages. Microsoft India is currently rolling out a minor software update to select Lumia devices to support 4G LTE networks. As Airtel continues to roll out its 4G service across the country Microsoft saw the need to enable 4G radios on devices which have the functionality built into the hardware but lacked the necessary software.
