A peek into the Samsung Mobile Test Labs in Korea

We had a chance to take a tour of Samsung’s testing facilities at the company headquarters in Suwon, near Seoul, South Korea.  The HQ is called Samsung Digital City and it where most Samsung products are designed and tested. With respect to mobile phones, putting specs on a spec sheet is one thing and getting the product to work in the same way is another thing. We got a chance to see how Samsung’s mobile products are tested before they are shipped.

Samsung heir and VC Lee Jae-yong arrested in South Korea on bribery charges

LG G5 shows up on Geekbench – Snapdragon 820 and 4GB RAM confirmed

The upcoming flagship from LG is now receiving a lot of limelight. After revealing that the G5 will have an “Always On” display in a teaser, a new listing on Geekbench confirms the fact that the smartphone will have 4GB of RAM and will be powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor.

Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge getting update to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow in South Korea

Samsung has started the roll out of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow for the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge in South Korea. The Marshmallow build has leaked to the Galaxy Note5, Note 4 and S5 in the past accidentally but this is now an official update.

Samsung has announced first numbers about its own mobile payment service Samsung Pay. The company has revealed that it has accumulated $30 million in transactions in first month since its debut in South Korea.

Obama administration vetoes Apple iPhones/iPads import ban, South Korea concerned

In a turn of events for the Samsung-Apple patent controversy, US president Barack Obama’s administration has vetoed an import and sales ban on some Apple iPhones and iPads, upending a legal upper hand for Samsung. This is reportedly the first time since 1987 that a presidential administration has vetoed a ban by the country’s own International Trade Commission. This has raised a few eyebrows in the far east, in South Korea, where the media criticized the USA for protecting Apple.

Samsung is the leader when it comes to display technology, they have been manufacturing one of the best displays from quite some time, Samsung had patented the concept of foldable display in South Korea  in the year 2006, the recently granted U.S patent for Samsung’s foldable display actually shows some positive light in this concept.

Samsung has launched the Galaxy S II LTE and Galaxy S II LTE HD in Korea. The Samsung Galaxy S II LTE is the first LTE phone from Samsung to launch in Korea and the Samsung Galaxy S II LTE HD has HD Super AMOLED display that feature 316 pixels per inch (ppi), higher than the standard 300ppi that provides better sharpness and readability. LG Optimus 3D to come with 3 pre-loaded Stereoscopic 3D games

LG has announced that the LG Optimus 3D would come pre-loaded with 3 stereoscopic 3D (S-3D) games. They have also introduced 17 stereoscopic 3D games from the leading mobile Game developer Gameloft that could be downloaded at discounted rates for LG Optimus 3D owners. Samsung Backs out: Drops Apple countersuit

Just a few weeks back we had heard that Apple  sued Samsung at their home ground in South Korea, and we expected Samsung to fight back by another law Suit against Apple, but Samsung took a different route this time, they dropped the counter-suit against Apple of about 10 claims.

HTC EVO 4G+ Announced In South Korea

HTC EVO 4G have been finally announced in South Korea. HTC EVO 4G+ looks quite similar to the HTC EVO 3D, but it does not have a dual camera for 3D video recording, nor does it support 3D playback.

Yesterday, we posted the leaked pics and video of the HTC EVO 4G+ and now, the company officially unveiled the device at their website.
