Coolpad launched the Note 3 smartphone in India earlier this month for Rs. 8,999. It went on sale on Amazon.in through flash sale at 2PM today. It received over 5 lakh registrations for the sale in just 2 days, said Coolpad. Today the company said that it sold 15,000 units of Note 3 smartphones in less than 5 minutes. It packs a 5.5-inch HD display, is powered by an Octa-Core 64-bit MediaTek MT6753 processor and runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with Cool UI on top. Its been a while since we noticed a major new Chinese entrant enter into the hot mess that is the Indian smartphone market. While Xiaomi and their ilk duke it out for the upper mid segment of the market we’ve seen quality hardware slip through the gaps left by them. Coolpad announced back in July that it will launch the a new smartphone with a fingerprint sensor in India soon. Today it has sent an invite for the launch of a new device on October 9th. It clear hints at the fingerprint sensor on the smartphone. It has partnered with Amazon.in to sell the new smartphone, which will be called the Note 3 in India.
