Apples, Blackberries and now Qiku (pronounced cheeku); fruits or thereabouts seem to be the preferred nomenclature amongst the tech world. All jokes apart, when we first got acquainted with new entrant, Qiku, we were a bit apprehensive about the choice of name and its repercussions in India. Not to be laughed off though, the company has gone ahead full steam and has incorporated a lot of feedback. Using a combination of sheer power and some very interesting software features, the QiKu Q Terra has managed to garner a lot of positive feedback. But is this warranted? More so for a company that’s a scrappy new upstart not just in India but in its home base of China as well. That’s what we set off to find out in our review. Google Spotlight Stories 360-degree experience has arrived on YouTube with Special Delivery, an original short film made by Academy Award-winning animation studio Aardman Animations, viewable on the YouTube app on several Android devices. Google Spotlight Stories was originally developed by Motorola Mobility’s Advanced Technology And Products (ATAP). It was released by Google for several Android devices back in May and it arrived on iPhone in July. Today the company announced that you can now give a ‘missed call’ to 7676404444 to book the Pick Mi service. You can also book it by calling the toll free number 1800 103 6286. LG has introduced G Pad II 8.3 LTE, it’s latest tablet in Korea. It packs a 8.3-inch (1920 x 1200) WUXGA display, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 615 processor and runs on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop). It has a 8-megapixel auto focus rear camera without flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. As the name indicates, it has 4G LTE connectivity, has built-in stylus and also comes pre-loaded with Microsoft Office apps. Facebook for iOS now supports Live Photos

Facebook’s iOS app is adding support for Live Photos feature, that debuted on Apple’s recently launched iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Uploading a Live Photo to Facebook is same as uploading a normal photo from your camera roll.

4G smartphones surpass 3G shipments in October 2015: IDC

A total of 9.3 million smartphones were shipped in India in the month of October 2015, according to a new report from International Data Corporation (IDC). A large chunk of these smartphones were 4G enabled from companies like Lenovo, Samsung and others.
