Huawei’s Honor brand at an event today in Bengaluru today announced the roll out details for its next software update – EMUI 5 based on Android 7.0 (Nougat). It said that upcoming Honor 8 Lite smartphone will be the first device that will come with EMUI 5.0 out-of- the-box. The worldwide tablet market once again contracted in the first quarter of 2017 (1Q17) with total shipments of 36.2 million, a year-over-year decline of 8.5%, according to preliminary data from the International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide Quarterly Tablet Tracker. The first quarter contraction marks the tenth straight quarter that tablets have experienced a decline over the same quarter a year earlier, with the previous five quarters recording double-digit drops.

Uber will now let riders update their pick up location after they have requested a ride, in case they happened to request from the wrong place. Riders can now redirect their driver partner to correct location through the app, even when the driver is en-route. This feature was piloted in a handful of cities and Uber said it led to less stress and fewer cancellations. This feature will be made available to all riders across the India in the coming weeks.

Homegrown cab aggregator Ola has raised $100 million (Rs 670 crore) in the latest round of funding. Investors in the latest round of funding comes from Falcon Edge Capital and Ratan Tata’s UC-RNT capital, a joint venture between Tata and and the University of California Investments, according to documents filed with the Registrar of Companies on May 2.
