OPPO just launched F3, the company’s latest selfie-focused smartphone in the ‘F Series’ at an event in India, as it had promised. It is the smaller variant of the F3 Plus that was launched back in March. It has the same 16-megapixel front-facing camera with 1/3.1-inch sensor and f/2.0 aperture along with an 8-megapixel secondary front camera with 120-degree wide-angle lens for capturing better group selfies that is present on the F3 Plus. Facebook reports $8.03 billion in revenue, hits 1.94 billion MAUs in Q1 2017

Facebook has reported financial earnings for Q1 2017. The social network has recorded $8.03 billion in revenue, up 49% YoY. Facebook continued its march toward the 2 billion user threshold as more than 1.94 billion people are now using its service monthly as of March 31, up 17 percent from a year earlier. WhatsApp back online after worldwide outage of about 2 hours

Facebook-owned WhatsApp went down for a few hours before it came back online. First it went down only in select regions, soon it was down in several countries globally. Earlier Whatsapp System Status in the app showed that the service was operating normally even though it was down, the company later confirmed that the service is experience problem, and they are working on bringing it back online shortly. Xiaomi just sent out invites for the inauguration of its first Mi Home store in India in Bengaluru, as it had promised last year. Xiaomi’s Mi Home store will be offering a range of products such as portable speakers, power banks, headphones, Mi Band, Mi Air Purifier and more, as mentioned in the invite, but it is not clear if it will sell smartphones at the launch.

Android Nougat adoption hits 7.1% in May

Google has released Android distribution numbers for the month of May. Android Nougat adoption is increasing steadily and has now reached to 7.1%, up from 4.9% last month. Nougat 7.0 is present on 6.6% of Android devices while 0.5% have Android 7.1 installed.

Huawei Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus with dual rear cameras, metal body get certified

Huawei smartphones with model numbers PIC-AL00, PIC-TL00, BAC-AL00 and BAC-TL00 have been certified by TENAA in China. These are expected to be Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus, successors of Nova and Nova Plus smartphones that were unveiled last year. The image shows the phones in Rose Gold colors with 2.5D curved glass display, unibody metal design, dual rear cameras and a fingerprint sensor on the back.
