OnePlus 3 and 3T OxygenOS beta update fixes blueborne vulnerability, brings new boot animation and more

OnePlus has started rolling out new OxygenOS open betas (Beta 15 for OnePlus 3T and Beta 24 for OnePlus 3) for the 3 and 3T phones that brings several new features including soft screen calibration, New boot animation and also patches blueborne vulnerability. This is independent of the Android security patch so some blueborne vulnerability scanners may not recognize our independent patch, says the company. Check out the complete changelog below. FaceID will likely feature in all 2018 iPhones: KGI

Apple recently unveiled the iPhone X that comes with FaceID face recognition technology to unlock the phone. It uses TrueDepth camera system made up of a dot projector, infrared camera and flood illuminator. It has 24W output, compared to 18W in the predecessor. It also has 18W input so you can charge it fully in 3.5 hours using a fast charger. It has support for MediaTek dual fast charging. LG launched the Q6 smartphone with 5.5-inch FHD+ FullVision display with 18:9 aspect ratio,  facial recognition and military grade durability in India last month. Today it has launched the LG Q6+ with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage in the country. All other specifications of the phone are same as the Q6. It runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) and has a 7000 series aluminum frame.

Meizu just announced M6, its latest budget smartphone and the successor of last year’s M5 in China, but it is just a minor upgrade. It packs a 5.2-inch HD 2.5D curved glass screen, is powered by a 1.5 GHz Octa-Core 64-bit MediaTek MT6750 processor and runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat)-based FlymeOS 6 on top. TRAI cuts Interconnection Usage Charges to 6 paise, will scrap charges from 2020

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has revised interconnection usage charges (IUC) after over 2 years. It has further reduced mobile to mobile to 6 paise per minute from 14 paise per minute from 2015. This comes after an open-house held by TRAI in July regarding interconnection usage charges (IUC) where Reliance Jio proposed to make IUC zero, while incumbents such as Airtel, Idea Cellular and Vodafone India were against it, demanding for IUC to be raised to 30-40 paise per minute. Apple releases iOS 11 for iPhone and iPad, watchOS 4 for Apple Watch

Apple has released iOS 11, its latest operating system for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users as it had promised and also released watchOS 4.0 for Apple Watch users. Announced at the WWDC in June this year, iOS 11 is compatible with iPhone 5s and later, all iPad Air and iPad Pro models, iPad 5th generation, iPad mini 2 and later and iPod touch 6th generation. Apple already said that iOS 11 is optimized for 64-bit apps, so 32-bit apps will not work and need to be updated by the app developer to work with this version of iOS.

Amazon has announced new Fire HD 10 Tablet, an upgrade to its 2015 model. It has a 10.1-inch widescreen 1080p Full HD display, compared to WXGA screen in the predecessor and is also 30% faster with 2x the RAM and a better quad-core processor. It also comes with Alexa hands-free for the first time in the  Fire tablet that lets you just ask Alexa to control video playback (play, pause, rewind, and fast forward), launch an app, play your favorite song, or read an audiobook aloud.
