Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphones in four color variants in India on 14th February. The smartphone duo went on sale for the first time in India on 22nd February and company claims to have sold over 3 lakh units under 3 minutes followed by a 2nd sale on 28th February, but only Black and Gold variants were available in both sales. Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro smartphones in India last week, which went on sale exclusively on Flipkart as well as Mi.com today at 12 noon. Manu Jain, Group Vice President and Managing Director of Xiaomi India just said that the company sold over 3 lakh units of the smartphones under 3 minutes, selling 1 lakh units per minute. In comparison, last year the company sold 2.5 lakh Redmi Note 4 smartphones in 10 minutes in its first sale. Xiaomi just launched the most expected Redmi Note 5 smartphone at an event in India along with the Redmi Note 5 Pro. It is the global variant of the Redmi 5 Plus that was introduced in China recently. Check out the unboxing and the first impressions of the phone.
Xiaomi just launched the Redmi Note 5, the company’s latest smartphone in the ‘Redmi Note’ series in India, as it had promised. As expected, it is the same Redmi 5 Plus that was introduced in China back in December last year. It has a 5.99-inch FHD+ 18:9 full-screen display, is powered by Snapdragon 625 with up to 4GB of RAM and runs on Android 7.1.2 (Nougat) with MIUI 9.2 on top.
We already know the Xiaomi is all set to launch the most expected Redmi Note 5 smartphone in India on February 14th. Earlier teasers did not have any hints. Today the company has posted a new teaser highlighting the smartphone’s large 18:9 aspect ratio high pixel density screen, which hints at a 5.99-inch FHD+ 18:9 full-screen display found in the Redmi 5 Plus. Earlier this week Xiaomi sent out invites for an event on February 14th, where it is expected to launch the Redmi 5 or Redmi Note 5 smartphone. Today Flipkart has confirmed that it will launch exclusively with them. Last year’s Redmi Note 4 was launched exclusively on Flipkart, and in a new tweet Flipkart has tagged Gaurav Kapur and said “Looks like everyone is excited about @XiaomiIndia’s all-rounder that’s a 5/5”, with similar “all-rounder” tag as Redmi Note 4 that was launched by Ravindra Jadeja, so we can expected the Redmi Note 5 to launch next week. Xiaomi smartphone with codename MET7/MEE7 showed up on TENAA yesterday showing the design of the phone with a full-screen 18:9 display, unibody metal design, camera bump and a fingerprint sensor on the back. Now the smartphone, which is expected to be Redmi Note 5 has been certified revealing complete specifications of the phone. It doesn’t reveal the processor, but it is rumored to be Snapdragon 630.
Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 5A back in August this year. Now a new smartphone with codename MET7 has been listed on TENAA, which is expected to be Redmi Note 5. This shows the phone’s full-screen 18:9 display, unibody metal design, camera bump and a fingerprint sensor on the back. It doesn’t show dual rear cameras as rumored earlier, but there could be a Redmi Note 5 Pro or Plus version.
