Google revives Blob emoji as sticker pack on Gboard for Android and iOS

This new Blob pack includes stickers that were first introduced with Allo last year. Nokia X5 with 5.86-inch 19:9 display, dual rear cameras, Android 8.1, Dual 4G VoLTE announced

HMD Global just announced Nokia X5, the company’s latest smartphone in the ‘X series’ in China, as it had promised. It comes with a 5.86-inch HD+ 19:9 aspect ratio 2.5D curved glass display with 84% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by MediaTek Helio P60 12nm  processor with up to 6GB of RAM, runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) OS, which is upgradable to Android P. It features a 13-megapixel rear camera along with a secondary 5-megapixel camera for AI portrait shots. There is also an 8-megapixel camera on the front for AI-powered selfie portraits and beauty mode. Last week Xiaomi confirmed that it will unveil the Mi Max 3 smartphone in China on July 19th. Yesterday, Xiaomi co-founder and President Bin Lin shared images of the smartphone in Blue Black and Gold colors. Today the company has posted the detailed specifications of the smartphone. All these coincide with earlier rumors. The company also revealed AI features for the camera that can detect 206 scenes, AI voice assistant, AI face unlock and more. After OxygenOS beta update for the OnePlus 5 and 5T that brought Google Lens support in camera, OnePlus today started rolling out stable OxygenOS 5.1.9 update for the OnePlus 6 that brings the Google Lens support as well as image quality improvements that promises better clarity, dynamic range, edge detection in portrait mode and overall focusing speed and accuracy. The update also brings Selfie Portrait beauty mode, Wi-Fi stability and improvements in Bluetooth connection for cars.

MediaTek Helio A22 2GHz Quad-Core 12nm SoC with Dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5, AI capabilities announced officially

MediaTek Helio A22, the company’s latest budget SoC based on 12nm TSMC FinFET technology was introduced with the Xiaomi Redmi 6A last month, after the Helio P22. Today the company has officially launched the SoC.  It supports 20:9 HD+ screen, has Quad-Core ARM Cortex-A53 CPUs with MediaTek CorePilot, and flexible LPDDR3/LPDDR4x memory controller. It supports 13+8MP dual or 21MP single camera setup.

WhatsApp beta for Android hints at Mark as read and Mute shortcuts in notification center [Update: Mute shortcut now rolling out in beta]

Update: Mute Shortcuts that appeared in WhatsApp beta for Android 2.18.214 is now available for everyone from beta version 2.18.216. This feature allows you quickly mute a chat, directly from the Notification Center when you receive over 51 messages from the same chat. The update doesn’t enable Mark as Read shortcut feature in the Notification Center yet.
