The International Data Corporation (IDC) has reported that tablet shipments for Q3 2019 worldwide have seen growth with 37.6 million units shipped globally, resulting in a year-on-year growth of 1.9%. The top five companies that shipped tablets are Apple, Amazon.com, Samsung, Huawei and Lenovo.
Update: November 1, 2019 — Xiaomi has confirmed that the phone will feature 4-axis OIS for both 108MP main camera and the Telephoto lens for stable shooting. It also confirmed 32MP front camera with wide video recording with 50mm focal length, cinematic background blur, and 12 movie filters.
Update: UK’s Vodafone Group Plc. has denied reports and said that it doesn’t have any plans to exit India. It added that it supports the management of its India joint venture – Vodafone Idea – in these ‘challenging’ times.

Facebook has released their quarterly earnings report for Q3 2019. The company has posted a 29% year-on-year growth in total revenue, split between 28% from advertising and 42% from Payments and other fees. Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook’s CEO, also explained in a post how they will not ban political advertising on the platform while the company believes in defending free expression.

Samsung has reported its earnings for Q3 2019 that ended September 30, 2019, in which the company has made operating profit of 7.78 trillion won, down 55.7% YoY. This due to continued weakness in the memory chip market, even with stronger smartphone sales and improved utilization in mobile OLED screens, said Samsung. It reported revenue of 62 trillion won, down 5.2% YoY from 65.46 trillion won last year. Apple has reported quarterly revenue of $64 billion, up 1.74% over last year with a net profit of $13.7 billion, down 2.83% YoY and earnings per diluted share of $3.03, up 4.1% for the financial year Q4 2019 that ended September 28, 2019. During earnings call Tim Cook said that it was Apple’s highest revenue in a September quarter ever, and the company set new Q4 revenue records in the Americas and rest of Asia-Pacific and saw further improvement in revenue trends in Greater China.
