An important security feature in Google’s Advanced Protection Program is the ability to security keys for an external authentication method. Google has announced that they will natively support the W3C WebAuthn implementation for Google Accounts in iOS 13.3 and above. This improves the user experience by enabling more security keys to be used as authentication.
Another day and yet another lawsuit against Google for breaking privacy laws in the USA. Google’s parent company, Alphabet is being sued for nearly $5 billion in the San Jose Federal Court, California for collecting data from users. Google has denied the claims and has stated that they will vigorously defend themselves in court.

Flipkart and Nokia have launched the second Nokia branded Smart TV in India, as they had promised. The 43-inch 4K Ultra HD TV has narrow bezels offering infinity-edge viewing experience. It has MEMC technology, intelligent dimming, wide color gamut and Dolby Vision. The TV has built-in 24 watt speakers on the bottom with DTS TruSurround, Dolby Audio and audio optimizations from JBL for deep bass. It runs Android 9.0 with support for Google Assistant, Chromecast in-built and lets you download more apps via Google’s Android Play Store.
HP has announced two new gaming laptops, updating models in their OMEN lineup and their Pavilion Gaming laptops. The OMEN 15 features both Intel 10th Gen and AMD Ryzen 4000 series processors this time, along with up to a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super with MAX-Q Design. The Pavilion Gaming 16 feature up to 10th Gen Core i7 processors and up to a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 with Max-Q design.

Leaks have surfaced that suggest that Apple’s upcoming iPad Air refresh will finally ditch the Lightning port and adopt USB-C. The iPad Mini, on the other hand, will continue to use the Lightning port for at least one more generation. If these rumours are true, this will be the first time Apple has begun using USB-C for tablets other than the iPad Pro lineup.

A new code leak of an early build of iOS 14 has revealed two new features that Apple is working on – a built-in translator for the Safari browser and support for Apple Pencil for websites in iPadOS 14. The features, if finished, will come to Apple users when iOS 14 is released during WWDC 2020 on June 22, 2020

HUAWEI’s HONOR brand just announced the HONOR Play 4 and Play 4 Pro 5G smartphones, as it had promised. These phones pack 6.81-inch and 6.57-inch FHD+ LCD screens with 60Hz refresh rate, respectively. The Play 4 is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 800 SoC and the Play 4 Pro 5G is powered by the company’s own Kirin 990 SoC with Balong 5000 5G modem. These have VC cooling support. The Play 4 Pro has a 40MP Sony IMX600y sensor along with 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS. It also has a 32MP front camera along with an 8MP Ultra-wide sensor. It looks like the Chromecast Ultra is due for an update and Google is working towards finishing the development of its successor, that will be launched during a hardware event later this year.
