Xolo Q600s with quad-core Broadcom processor and Android 4.4 officially launched for Rs. 8499

Xolo has officially launched the Q600s, the company’s latest budget smartphone running on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It went on sale online earlier this week and packs a 4.5-inch qHD display based on One Glass Solution (OGS), powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Broadcom processor and has 1GB of RAM. It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. This would compete with Moto E, Micromax Unite 2 A106 and the Lava Iris X1. Japan Display introduces 7-inch WQXGA display with WhiteMagic technology

Japan Display Inc. has announced a 7-inch wide QXGA (1600 x 2560 pixels) LCD panel for tablets. This LTPS (Low temperature polysilicon) type display has a new WhiteMagic technology that promises low power consumption and high visibility under sunlight. This uses edge-lit method, in which the LEDs are placed at the edges of the lightguide plate. This can reduce the module of up to 1.16 mm. We had already seen this WhiteMagic technology on the Sony Xperia P, but this also uses new local dimming backlight along with this. MediaTek MT8127 quad-core SoC with Mali-450 MP4 GPU announced for tablets

MediaTek has just announced MT8127, the company’s latest quad-core SoC for tablets and it is aimed at super-mid markets. It has four ARM Cortex A7 cores, each clocked up to 1.5 GHz and has a quad-core ARM Mali-450 MP4 GPU. Other features include full hardware support for the HEVC (H.265) video playback standard, support for up to 13MP camera module, Full HD 1080p video recording and playback and more. Windows Phone 8.1’s official file manager finds its way to the store

Back when Joe Belfiore took part in an AMA on Reddit, for Windows Phone 8.1, he revealed that Microsoft had an official File Manager app ready and it will be coming soon. That day has arrived, as the “Files” app has made its way on to the store. With the new WinRT APIs for 8.1, Microsoft had enabled the file picker and file access for third party apps, and it was only about time that they made a first party app too. WhatsApp is back on Windows Phone Store, brings Chat backgrounds, Privacy features and more

WhatsApps was suddenly removed from the Windows Phone Store due to technical issues and the WhatsApp team said that they are working with Microsoft to resolve the issues and bring it back shortly. The app did not return to the store even after a week, leaving Windows Phone users frustrated, since this is the only way to download the app for the platform. Few hours back the apps has returned to the Windows Phone Store and it has also been updated with new features.

Airtel has launched 4G services in Jalandhar, Punjab.Airtel launched its 4G LTE services in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula in Punjab and Haryana last March and rolled out voice services on 4G in these three cities earlier this month. It also launched its 4G services in Ludhiana earlier this month. In Jalandhar, Airtel customers can access 4G on dongles, Wi-Fi CPEs (Customer Premise Equipment/ routers) and mobile phones. The Liquid E700 has a 5-inch HD display, powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor and comes with support for three SIM cards. The Z200 is an entry-level smartphone with 4-inch WVGA screen and a dual-core processor. All these smartphones run on Android 4.4 (KitKat).
