motorola begins Android 16 roll out in India


motorola has announced it is beginning the rollout of the Android 16 operating system to its smartphone portfolio. The company confirmed that the update will be progressively extended to its devices, starting with three models from its premium range.

The first devices scheduled to receive the Android 16 update are the motorola edge 60 Pro, motorola edge 60 Fusion, and motorola edge 50 Pro. The update will be delivered over the air and will introduce a range of new software capabilities and enhancements to these devices.

Key features included in the Android 16 update are:

  • Notification Auto Grouping: This feature is designed to manage and condense multiple alerts from applications to reduce notification clutter.
  • Improved Hearing Device Support: The update offers better integration and control for hearing aids, including support for LE Audio devices in noisy environments.
  • Instant Hotspot: Allows tablets and Chromebooks signed into the same Google account to connect to a user’s smartphone hotspot without needing a password.
  • Modes: A new function that lets users create personalized profiles for different activities, such as working or sleeping, which can control notifications, app behavior, and system settings.
  • Security Enhancements: Android 16 introduces a feature called “Advanced Protection” and an updated Moto Secure 5.5 suite, which includes a “Secure Power-Off” function.

In addition to these features, the update will bring a refreshed interface, smarter system settings, new diagnostic tools, expanded battery insights, and improved accessibility options. Motorola has stated that the rollout will be extended to more of its devices in the future.
