Samsung Galaxy A 2020 series to be announced on December 12, Galaxy A51 with punch-hole display and more expected

Samsung has scheduled an event in Vietnam on December 12th to introduce its Galaxy A Series 2020 edition of smartphones. The teaser shows a punch-hole display, as rumored earlier for the A51 and A71 smartphones. Even though the teaser doesn’t confirm the name of the phone, but the source on the Samsung Vietnam landing page for the teaser mentions A51 and also SM-A515F, which is the product code for the phone. Amazon just launched the new Echo Input Portable Smart Speaker in India, after launching the first Echo Input in the country earlier this year. This voice-controlled smart speaker that combines hands-free access to Alexa with a 4,800 mAh rechargeable battery promising 10 hours of playback. It is designed to be carried around your home, comes with 360-degree audio and allows lets you access Alexa from anywhere in the room using the same far-field voice recognition as other Echo devices. Nokia 5G smartphone with Snapdragon 765, PureDisplay and ZEISS Imaging coming in 2020

In addition to Xiaomi, Nokia Mobile also announced that it will use Snapdragon 765 Mobile Platform for its next-gen 5G smartphone. The phone will have PureDisplay, similar to its latest devices and feature ZEISS optics that will also offer 4K UHD ultra-wide video support. Xiaomi confirms Redmi K30 will be powered by Snapdragon 765G 5G Mobile Platform, Mi 10 with Snapdragon 865 coming in Q1 2020

At the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit, Xiaomi co-founder and VP Bin Lin announced that Mi 10, the company’s next-gen flagship smartphone and the successor of Mi 9 will be powered by Snapdragon 865 Mobile platform. He also said that it will use Samsung’s 108 MP sensor, same as Mi MIX Alpha, CC9 Pro / Mi Note 10. Next year the company is aiming to introduced 10 5G smartphones, and bring 5G Mi Watch 2. Xiaomi VP said that they are waiting for 5G version of Snapdragon 3100. It has 5th Gen AI Engine, 4K HDR capture with computer-vision ISP, 4K60 HDR10+ support and can support a camera up to 192 megapixels. Intel completes sale of smartphone modem business to Apple valued at $1 billion

Intel has announced that it has completed the sale of the majority of its smartphone modem business to Apple. This transaction, valued at $1 billion, was announced back in July, and Intel already said that approximately 2,200 Intel employees will join Apple, along with intellectual property, equipment and leases. Xiaomi Mi Credit digital lending platform launched in India officially, offers instant loans of up to Rs. 1 lakh

Xiaomi today launched its Mi Credit digital lending platform in India officially, after running a pilot last year. The company said that during pilot period it has disbursed over 28 crore worth of loans, and 20% of the loans disbursed were for the highest loan value. The company partnered with KreditBee last year, now it has partnered with Aditya Birla Finance Limited, Money View, EarlySalary, CreditVidya and ZestMoney. Xiaomi co-founder Lei Jun steps down as China president as Lu Weibing takes over

Xiaomi has announced that the company’s co-founder Lei Jun will be stepping down as the China president, and Lu Weibing will be replacing him. Wang Xiang, who had been the Senior Vice President of the Group and head of global business, has been promoted as the President of the Group. He will be responsible for the Group’s administrative platform, and will assist the Group’s CEO, Lei Jun, to take charge of the Group’s operations. Google Pixel phones get December 2019 security update, brings Live Captions, Gesture navigation in third-party launchers and more to older Pixels

Google has started rolling out new over-the-air (OTA) update for Pixel devices and also posted factory images as part of monthly Android Security release for December. Pixel and Pixel XL get the final patch, as it had promised. Google is also adding Live Captions (for Pixel 3 and later), Styles & Wallpaper (Pixel 3 and Later) Pixel themes, Swipe-down gesture for notifications and Gesture navigation in third-party launchers (Pixel 2 and later), as noted by Android Police. Vivo has announced Y9s, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone in the Y series in China, after it got certified by TENAA few weeks back.  It packs a 6.38-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with 90% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by Snapdragon 665 with 8GB of RAM, 48MP primary sensor, 8MP ultrawide sensor, 2MP depth and a  2MP macro sensor, as well as a 32MP front-facing camera. Redmi Note 8 Series sales cross 10 million units globally in 3 months

Xiaomi’s Redmi brand introduced  Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro smartphones in China back in August, and the phones were launched in India in October. Today the company has announced that the combined sales of Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro have hit 10 million units globally in just 3 months, which is 1 month less time compared to the Redmi Note 7 series. It said that it sold 110,000 units per day for 3 consecutive months. Last week the company announced that it has sold 1 million or 10 lakh units of Redmi Note 8 series in India in 1 month. HUAWEI Nova 6 5G with dual punch-hole display, 105° ultra-wide front camera to be announced on December 5 [Update: New images]

Update: HUAWEI has posted official renders of the Nova 6 5G that shows the phone’s dual punch-hole screen with minimal bezels, and triple rear cameras that includes a telephoto lens with OIS. It has also started pre-bookings for the phone in China.

Infinix has launched Band 5, the company’s latest fitness tracker and the successor of the Xband 3 which was launched back in June. It has 0.96-inch color screen that displays icons for different functions. It lets you monitor your heart rate and the fitness band is IP67 rated for water resistance against accidental splashes and dust.
