Nokia 6.1 Android 9.0 (Pie) stable update starts rolling out

After the Nokia 7 Plus Stable Pie update last month and beta update earlier this month for the Nokia 6.1 Plus, HMD Global today started rolling out stable Android 9.0 (Pie) update for the Nokia 6.1 users, as it had promised. The company already promised Android Pie update will be coming to Nokia 6.1 and Nokia in October, Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Sirocco in November. Micromax Bharat 4 Diwali Edition and Bharat 5 Infinity Edition Android Oreo Go Edition smartphones launched starting at Rs. 4249

Micromax has launched two new  Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphones – Bharat 4 Diwali Edition and Bharat 5 Infinity Edition. Both these come with flash support for both the front and rear cameras and 5-inch screen, however the Bharat 5 Infinity Edition comes with a 18:9 aspect ratio display, fingerprint sensor on the back and packs a huge 5000mAh battery so that you can charge other devices easily.  The company did not reveal display resolution or the SoC of the phones.

OnePlus 6T Benchmarks and Gaming Review

OnePlus introduced its flagship OnePlus 6T smartphone yesterday. We already brought you the unboxing and the first impressions of the phone, here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. The OnePlus 6T is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 845 10nm Mobile Platform with that has four custom Kryo 385 Performance cores clocked at 2.8GHz per core and four smaller Efficiency Kryo 280 cores are clocked at 1.8GHz per core and has Adreno 630 GPU,  8GB LPDDR4x RAM, same as the predecessor but this has a larger 6.4.1-inch 19.5:9 Full HD+ Optic AMOLED display and runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) with Oxygen OS 9. Panasonic P85 NXT with 5-inch display, 4000mAh battery launched in India for Rs. 6999

Panasonic today launched P85 NXT, the company’s latest smartphone in the ‘P Series’, a year after the launch of P85. It has the same 5-inch HD display, 4000mAh battery and comes with 4G VoLTE support, but this runs on Android 7.1.2 (Nougat). It has an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera, both with LED flash. Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) Camera Samples

Samsung  launched the new Galaxy A7 (SM-A750F) with triple rear cameras in India last month. Here we have the camera samples from the phone. The phone has a 24-megapixel primary Sony IMX576 sensor with f/1.7 aperture, secondary 8-megapixel 120° Ultra Wide Lens for wide-angle photos and a 5-megapixel camera to capture depth information for portrait shots. OnePlus 6T – T-Mobile trade-in program offers $300 credits with over 30 phones

OnePlus introduced the OnePlus 6T smartphone at an event in New York few hours back starting at $549. At the event the company said that the phone will be available with T-Mobile exclusively in the U.S. apart from OnePlus.com.  T-Mobile is offering the phone with $24.17/month x 24 contract so the total price before credits comes to $580.

OnePlus 6T with 6.41-inch FHD+ AMOLED 19.5:9 display, 8GB RAM, in-display fingerprint sensor announced starting at $549

OnePlus just announced its flagship OnePlus 6T smartphone at an event in New York, as it had promised. It has a larger 6.41-inch Optic AMOLED display with a tiny notch that also houses three-in-one ambient/distance/RGB sensor and front-facing camera. It has about 86% screen-to-body ratio and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. It is powered by Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform with up to 8GB of RAM, same as the OnePlus 6, but the base version of the 6T now comes with 128GB storage, instead of 64GB. It still has daily water-resistance so that the phone can withsand splashes and accidental spills, but it doesn’t have IP ratings. Honor View 10 EMUI 9.0 Android 9.0 Pie beta update starts rolling out in India

Huawei introduced EMUI 9.0 based on Android 9.0 (Pie) at the IFA 2018 last month. Earlier this month the company said that EMUI 9.0 will bring local language support, local calendar, deeper integration of Paytm, and more for India users. It also said that EMUI 9.0 will rolling out in beta for Huawei Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, P20, P20 Pro, Honor 10, Honor View 10, and Honor Play soon. Apple iPhone XR teardown reveals large rectangular battery, modular SIM card reader

Apple iPhone XR smartphone went on sale few hours back in over several countries and territories globally. As usual, folks at iFixit have already managed to grab the iPhone and have given at a teardown treatment as usual. We already know that the iPhone XR has a 2942mAh battery. The teardown reveals an 11.16Wh battery (2,944 mAh at 3.79V), which is bigger than the iPhone XS’s battery, but it is slightly smaller than the 3,179mAh battery on the iPhone XS Max. It is thicker since it packs more juice.

Microsoft completes $7.5 billion GitHub acquisition

Microsoft has announced that it has completed its acquisition of GitHub in a $7.5 billion all stock deal that was signed back in June. As both the companies already said, GitHub will retain its developer-first ethos, operate independently and remain an open platform. Nat Friedman, former CEO of Xamarin (acquired by Microsoft in 2016) will be taking over as GitHub’s CEO, reporting to Scott Guthrie, Microsoft Cloud + AI Group Executive Vice President.
