Xiaomi has announced an event on August 13th to introduce MIUI 7, its next MIUI ROM. The MIUI 6 was introduced back in August last year that brought a flat user interface and new features. Even though early versions of MIUI 6 were based on Android KitKat, the latest smartphones such as Mi 4i are running on MIUI 6 ROM based on Android 5.0.2 (Lollipop).

Motorola launched the Moto G (3rd Gen) smartphone in India last week starting at Rs. 11,999. At the launch the company announced that it will sell back covers and flip covers for the smartphone in several colors separately. Samsung introduced the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini back in 2013, which was launched in India in July 2013, now the company has silently launched the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Plus (GT-I9195I) in Europe. This packs a faster Snapdragon 410 64-bit SoC and also comes with 4G LTE support. It also runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) out of the box. Other specifications are similar to the original Galaxy S4 Mini, including a 4.3-inch (960 × 540 pixels) qHD Super AMOLED display, 8-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and a 1.9-megapixel HD front-facing camera. MediaTek introduced its Helio X and P series SoCs for high-end smartphones back in March and officially unveiled its Helio X20 deca (10) core SoC in May. Now details about the company’s upcoming Helio X30 SoC has surfaced in China (Via). We already know that the Helio X30 is based on 20nm process and has 2 x Cortex-A72 CPUs at 2.5GHz, 4 x Cortex-A53 CPUs at 2.0GHz and 4 x Cortex-A53 CPUs at 1.4GHz, but the Helio X30 will be based on 16nm FinFET process, and use 4 x Cortex-A72 CPUs at 2.5GHz , 2 x Cortex-A72 CPUs at 2GHz, 2 x Cortex-A53 CPUs at 1.0GHz and 2 x Cortex-A53 CPUs at 1.5GHz. Motorola Moto G (3rd Generation) was launched in India last week starting at Rs. 11,999. We already brought you the unboxing and the photo gallery of the smartphone, here we have the benchmarks. It is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) SoC that has four ARM Cortex-A53 CPUs clocked at 1.36 GHz per core, slightly faster than the clock speed of 1.19GHz on other smartphones. Sony just announced Xperia M5, the company’s latest smartphone in the M series. It has a 5-inch 1080p display, is powered by MediaTek Helio X10 Octa-Core SoC and runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop). It has a 21.5-megapixel rear camera with 0.25-second Hybrid Autofocus, LED flash, 4K video recording, 5x Clear Image Zoom (allows you to get close without losing any quality) and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. Samsung has launched the Galaxy A8, the company’s latest top-end smartphone in its A series. It was announced earlier this month in China, packs a 5.7-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display with 2.5mm ultra-narrow bezels and runs on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop), but the Indian variant is powered by an Octa-Core Exynos 5430 processor instead of Snapdragon 615 SoC. It has a full metal uni-body design, similar to the other A series smartphones and is just 5.9mm thick. It also has a fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button.

Elephone announced P8000 back in May. The smartphone surfaced online in India in June and was expected to launch in India first, but the company decided to launch the Elephone G7 in the country first last month. Twitter has added support for four new languages – Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi and Tamil for the web and Android. This joins Hindi and Bengali that were added more than a year back. This makes Twitter more accessible to Indians across the country.
