Google expands Personal Intelligence across AI Mode in Search, Gemini app and Chrome in the U.S.

Google has expanded its Personal Intelligence feature across AI Mode in Search, the Gemini app, and Google Chrome in the United States. The feature connects data across Google services to generate responses based on user-specific context.

The expansion follows its earlier introduction and brings the feature to more Google platforms.

What is Personal Intelligence?

Personal Intelligence allows users to connect data from services such as Gmail and Google Photos. This enables responses to be generated using existing user information without requiring detailed manual input. It can reference past purchases, travel details, and usage patterns to provide context-aware outputs.

Key Features and Use Cases

  • Shopping recommendations based on past activity: The system suggests products using previous purchases, preferred brands, and style patterns. It can also consider details such as matching accessories.
  • Device troubleshooting with contextual data: Users can describe an issue without specifying the exact product. The system can identify the device using purchase records and provide relevant troubleshooting steps.
  • Travel assistance during time constraints: It provides suggestions during situations like airport layovers by considering user preferences, terminal locations, and available time between flights.
  • Personalized travel recommendations: Travel suggestions are generated using previous trips, interests, and saved data instead of general listings.
  • Suggestions for new activities: The system recommends activities by analyzing user interests and past behavior patterns.
Availability

Personal Intelligence is available in the U.S. through AI Mode in Search. It is also rolling out to free-tier users in the Gemini app and Gemini integration in Chrome. The feature is limited to personal Google accounts and is not available for Workspace business, enterprise, or education users.
