It is based on operator popups and uses its own data analytics engine to figure out correct latest talktime balance and automatically shows it on the dialer, before making a call so that you can get an idea on how much balance is left. The company says that it is using proprietary patent pending technology.

Apple reports record $75.9 billion revenue in FY Q1 2016, 74.8 million iPhones sold

Apple has reported revenue of $75.9 billion with a net profit of $18.4 billion in their earnings for the financial year Q1 2016 that ended December 26, 2015. Revenues were up 2% and earnings per share, up 7% year-over-year driven by all-time record iPhone sales, all-time record revenue from services, the expanded availability of Apple Watch and the new Apple TV. It sold 74.8 million iPhones, an all-time high, compared to 74.5 million FY Q1 2015, but it is just 1% growth, the slowest since the introduction of the smartphone in 2007. It sold 16.1 million iPads, compared to 21.4 million compared to the same quarter a year ago and sold 5.3 million Macs. Opera has updated its Opera Mini app for Android to version 14 that brings better language support, with 90 languages to choose from. This includes 13 Indian languages – Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. In addition to the improved language support, Opera Mini for Android also gets a QR- code reader and generator and an improved download manager. LG Q4 2015 profits up 27% YoY, 59.7 million smartphones shipped in 2015

LG Electronics has reported revenues of 14.56 trillion won (US$ 12.57 billion) in Q4 2015, a 3.8% increase compared to the same quarter last year with operating profit of 349 billion won (US$ 301.38 million), up 27% from the same period the previous year. For the whole 2015 operating income was 1.19 trillion won (US$ 1.03 billion), compared to 1.83 trillion (US$ 1.58 billion) in 2014 on revenues of 56.51 trillion won (US$ 48.8 billion), compared with 59.04 trillion won (US$ 50.98 billion) the previous year, mainly due to sluggish global market demand for TVs and softer growth of smartphone market. OnePlus X gets OxygenOS 2.2.0 update with manual camera mode, USSD bug fix for India

OnePlus has finally started rolling out Oxygen OS v2.2.0 OTA update for the OnePlus X smartphone, couple of months after it rolled out the OxygenOS 2.1.3 update. This update fixes USSD issues for India finally, so that pre-paid users will now receive USSD notification after a call, SMS and for data usage. The update also adds manual mode that is already present in the OnePlus 2, option to save images in SD card directly in camera, security patches, bug fixes and optimizations.
