HONOR has shared new details regarding the integration of its AI Image to Video 2.0 feature, which will debut on the upcoming HONOR 600 Series smartphones. The update introduces what the company describes as the industry’s first on-device unified multi-modal video generation model, aimed at providing users with more advanced tools for mobile content creation.
The development of version 2.0 follows usage data from the previous HONOR 400 Series, where users reportedly generated over 13.4 million seconds of AI-assisted video. The new iteration focuses on interactive features, narrative control, and expanded accessibility.
Technical Foundation
The HONOR 600 Series integrates a multi-modal visual-language architecture directly onto the device. This system is designed to handle various inputs—including text, images, and video—by merging video comprehension, generation, and editing into a single workflow.
According to HONOR, the model relies on a deep semantic understanding that allows users to operate the tool using natural, conversational prompts. A key technical focus of the model is maintaining visual consistency; it utilizes multi-angle subject construction and free composition techniques to keep generated videos structurally coherent during complex camera movements or transitions. The system also includes enhanced privacy and data security protocols.
Key Upgrades and Features
The AI Image to Video 2.0 update introduces four primary capabilities:
- Image and Instruction to Video: Users can upload up to three reference photos and use natural language text prompts to direct the on-screen action, providing specific control over the generated video sequences.
- First-and-Last Frame Generation: By selecting distinct opening and closing images, the AI can generate a transitional video bridging the two scenes. This feature supports variable video durations ranging from 3 to 8 seconds, allowing for adjustable pacing.
- Expanded Template and Effects Library: The system includes preset stylizations, multi-frame transitions, and complex camera movements, such as bullet time, Hitchcock zoom, and world-transformation effects.
- Dedicated AI Button: The HONOR 600 Series will feature a hardware button for one-tap access to video generation. When configured in the settings, a long press can initiate the feature directly from the local photo gallery or while viewing images on third-party applications like X, WhatsApp, and Instagram.
Promotional Campaign and Availability
To demonstrate the narrative capabilities of the new AI features, HONOR has released a promotional street interview video centered around the theme of “unfinished dreams,” showcasing how static images can be converted into dynamic video sequences.

The HONOR 600 series will be launched globally at an event in Malaysia on April 22nd, and the launch event starts at 3PM MYT (12:30PM IST).
Availability Notes: The AI Image to Video feature will be rolled out via an Over-The-Air (OTA) update. HONOR notes that actual performance may vary based on environmental conditions and specific usage scenarios. Furthermore, access to the feature, including potential free trial eligibility during the initial sales period, may vary by region. Following any applicable free trial, continued use of the service may require a subscription or payment.
