Global smartphone SoC market has crossed $8 billion in Q3 2017 as the chipset market grew 19% according to Counterpoint Research’s Component Tracker for Q3, 2017. HMD Global’s Chief product officer Juho Sarvikas has confirmed that Nokia 2 will get Android 8.1 Oreo update directly skipping 8.0 update. He hasn’t given any time frame but said that most of the Android 8.1 features would be available, including the memory management improvements, which is needed since the phone has only 1GB of RAM. After selling the tablet for more than two-years, Google has silently dropped the Pixel C tablet from its Google Store to focus on Pixelbook entirely.
