Viber for Windows Phone 8 updated with redesigned UI and Viber desktop support

Viber is a well known app, popular mainly for its VOIP services and chat. The company has been having its own Windows Phone 8 app for a while but it lacked some much needed features. With the announcement of the new desktop app, the integration was curiously missing out on the Windows Phone platform with the 3.0 update, but finally, the app has been now updated with a nicely refreshed UI with custom backgrounds support and better integration with Viber desktop that lets you take calls and transfer them over to phone from the PC or vice versa. LG G Health Smartwatch trademark filing surfaces

LG has filed for G Health Smartwatch trademark to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Gear, its Korean competitor. Rumors of the LG Smartwatch surfaced back in March. Back in July Apple filed filed the iWatch trademark in Japan, Russia & Mexico, but it is not clear when we can expect a watch from the company. LG filed the G Health trademark on October 23rd, 2013. Man who stole more than $12 million worth of LG G2 smartphones caught

Just a few days after we reported of the stolen LG G2 truck incident, the thief, or at least one of the thieves that managed to hijack a truck full of LG’s G2 smartphones, seems to have been caught today. It is believed that the truck was spotted in Louisville after the driver of the stolen truck foolishly crashed into an utility pole. This is akin to getting busted on a single star wanted level in GTA V.

Panasonic P11 Benchmarks

Panasonic launched the P11, the latest smartphone in the P Series last month. We brought you the unboxing of the smartphone recently. It has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display at 293 ppi pixel density, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 (MSM8625Q) processor with Adreno 203 GPU and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). S Mobility has launched the Spice Smart Flo Edge Mi-349, an entry-level Android smartphone in the Smart Flo series. It went on sale online yesterday along with the Spice Smart Flo Ivory 2 Mi-423 and packs a 3.5-inch (480 x 320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display. It is powered by a 1 GHz processor, runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and comes with 2G (EDGE) support and dual SIM capabilities. It has a 1.3-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It packs a 1500mAh that offers up to 6 hours of talk time and up to 120 hours standby.

Google is either very bad at keeping things under wraps or it has just found a new way of promoting its future products. Motorola announces Project Ara, an open hardware platform to create customizable smartphones

Motorola has announced Project Ara that is aimed at developing a phone platform that is modular, open, customizable. The project that is similar to Phonebloks is led by Motorola’s Advanced Technology and Projects group, which is an open hardware platform for creating highly modular smartphones. The design for Project Ara consists of an endoskeleton (endo) and modules. The endo is the structural frame that holds all the modules in place and the module can differ from a application processor to a new display, keyboard, an extra battery or anything. Apple reports Q4 2013 revenues at $37.5 billion, 33.8 million iPhones and 14.1 million iPads sold

Apple has reported revenue of $37.5 billion with a net profit of $7.5 billion in their earnings for Q4 2013 that ended September 28, 2013. The international sales in this quarter is 60% of the quarter’s revenue. They sold 33.8 million iPhones, 14.1 million iPads and 4.6 million Macs during the quarter. During the conference call Apple CEO Tim Cook said that they have sold 150 million iPhones in the fiscal 2013 and are pleased with the iPhone sales in Russia, India, Middle East, and Latin America. The Smart Flo Edge Mi-349 has a 3.5-inch (480 x 320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). HTC One mini Benchmarks

HTC One mini was launched in India earlier this month. It was announced back in July and packs a 4.3-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display. We already brought you the hands-on and the unboxing of the phone, here we have the benchmarks of the phone. The One mini is powered by a 1.4 GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 MSM8930 chip clocked at 1.7 GHz based on Krait 300 architecture and 28nm process and has Adreno 305 GPU . It runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) with Sense 5 UI on top. Let’s find out how the phone fairs up in benchmarks when compared to other devices.
