After teasers, Amazfit has launched its T-Rex Pro rugged smartwatch in India. It has passed 15 regulations of the military-standard (MIL-STD-810G) quality test and can withstand extreme heat and cold, is resistant against corrosion, moisture resistance and has a durable body. It has heat resistance of 70℃, resistance to severe cold of minus 40℃, has passed 240-hour damp heat test,  96 Hrs of Salt spray, shock resistance and many more. Xiaomi confirms new Mi MIX will feature liquid lens; Mi 11 Ultra to use silicon-oxygen anode battery

Xiaomi posts 12.8% YoY increase in profits in 2020, shipped 146.4 million smartphones, up 17.5% YoY

Xiaomi has reported its earning for the fourth quarter (Q4 2020) and the whole financial year of 2020 that ended December 31, 2020. It reported revenue of 245.9 billion yuan (US$ 37.57 billion) for FY 2020, an increase of 19.4% compared to FY 2019. Revenue from overseas markets increased 34.1% year-over-year to 122.4 billion yuan, accounting for 49.8% of total revenue. Net profit for year 2020 was approximately 13.478 billion yuan. It is powered by Snapdragon 768G Mobile platform with support for 5G SA/NSA, and has memory fusion technology that lets 8G RAM to get an equivalent to 11GB RAM.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 780G 5nm 5G Mobile Platform announced

Qualcomm has announced Snapdragon 780G 5G Mobile Platform, sucessor to Snapdragon 765G / 768G. It is based on 5nm process technology, same as the Snapdragon 888. The new Qualcomm Kryo 670 CPU with new architecture delivers up to 40% performance uplift, said the company. It has  Qualcomm Spectra 570 triple ISP and 6th generation Qualcomm AI Engine with the Qualcomm Hexagon 770 processor delivering up to 12 TOPs AI performance, which is a 2x improvement compared to its predecessor.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite with 6.55-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, Snapdragon 780G 5G 5nm SoC surfaces ahead of March 29 announcement

Xiaomi is all set to introduce the Mi 11 Pro and Ultra phones on March 29th. Earlier rumour revealed that Mi 11 Lite will also join them. Specifications and the rear design of the phone surfaced, and it said that the phone will be 6mm slim and weigh 150 grams. Now more renders of the phone have surfaced. The phone is said to come with Snapdragon 732G SoC for the 4G version as rumoured earlier, and there will also be a 5G version with upcoming Snapdragon 780G SoC with built-in Snapdragon X53 modem. Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G version with Snapdragon 865 launching in India next week

India anti-trust watchdog announces investigation into WhatsApp’s updated privacy policy

WhatsApp’s troubles with India over its updated privacy policies is continuing as the Competition Commission of India (CCI), an anti-trust watchdog has announced a new probe into the Facebook-owned messaging service. The probe is aimed at investigating WhatsApp’s new privacy policy for its violating competition laws, before it goes live in May 2021.

Samsung introduces 512GB DDR5 module with HKMG process technology

Samsung Electronics, one of the world’s largest manufacturer of memory chips, has announced the launch of their 512GB DDR5 module that is based on High-K Metal Gate (HKMG) process technology. It boasts twice the speed of performance of DDR4 at up to 7200 Mbps, and is designed for high-bandwidth applications such as supercomputing, artificial intelligence, etc.
