Gionee M2 to get Android 4.4 KitKat update on September 5 in India

Gionee has announced that it will roll out the Android 4.4 (KitKat) update for its M2 smartphone on September 5th in India. It was launched back in February running Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). The company released Android KitKat update for the Pioneer P4 in India earlier this week. It rolled out KitKat update for the Elife E7 mini and Elife S5.5 smartphones in India few weeks back. Sony’s mystery device that appeared earlier this week has gone official in China. It is called Cyber-shot DSC-KW11 and looks like a perfume bottle. It has a 19.2-megapixel swivel camera with f/2.0 wide-angle lens, 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS CMOS sensor and a focal length of 21mm and LED flash on the top. This can rotate 180-degrees. Lava launched the Iris X1, the first smartphone in the X series back in May. Today Lava has announced that it would launch a new smartphone with a wide-angle front camera with LED flash in the X series soon. Sony launched the Xperia C3, a similar selfie-focused smartphone with a 5-megapixel front camera with LED flash recently. Lava did not reveal the resolution of the rear camera yet. The official Xiaomi flip covers and the screen protector for the Mi 3 that went on pre-order earlier this week, would go on sale next week on Flipkart.
