Gionee has released the KitKat update for its M2 smartphone in India, as it promised. Gionee has announced that it will roll out the Android 4.4 (KitKat) update for its M2 smartphone on September 5th in India. It was launched back in February running Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). The company released Android KitKat update for the Pioneer P4 in India earlier this week. It rolled out KitKat update for the Elife E7 mini and Elife S5.5 smartphones in India few weeks back. Gionee M2 and the Gpad G4 have been officially launched in India. These smartphones went on sale recently. The M2 has a 5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) display, powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and packs 4200 mAh battery. The GPad G4 has a 5.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD one-glass solution (OGS) display, powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589T processor with PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU, 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and packs a 3200 mAh battery. Gionee M2, the latest mid-range smartphone from the company is now available in India from online retailer Snapdeal. It has a 5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) display, powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM support with dual standby and packs 4200 mAh battery.
