Telegram fined $18.5 million by US SEC for offering illegal “Grams” digital tokens

Telegram, a popular messaging app, has been found in violation of US federal securities laws by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and has been fined a civil penalty of $18.5 million. The complaint was focused on their blockchain based Telegram Open Network (TON) and their cryptocurrency called “Grams”.

Amazon Prime Video is launching a new feature called “Watch Party” that enables co-viewing of  Prime Video content for users in the US with a prime membership. Sony Research India launched with R&D centers in Bengaluru and Mumbai

In the latest development, Sony has announced that it will establish a research company “Sony Research India Private Limited (Sony Research India)” effective July 1st, 2020. As per the company, the research company consists of R&D Center India Bengaluru Laboratory and Mumbai Laboratory as part of Sony’s Global R&D centres. This was announced back in November last year. Indian Government bans 59 Chinese apps including TikTok, Shareit and UC Browser [Update: TikTok Responds]

Update: June 30, 2020 – Few hours after the announcement by the government, TikTok, Helo and more apps have been removed from the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store. Today TikTok has released a statement that it continues to comply with all data privacy and security requirements under Indian law and has not shared any user data with any foreign government, including the Chinese Government. 10.8-inch Apple iPad said to launch later this year; 8.5-inch iPad Mini in 2021

A research note from Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed that Apple is working towards launching a 10.8-inch iPad by the end of 2020 and a 8.5-inch iPad Mini sometime in 2021. The iPad Mini will likely be updated with the newer A13 Bionic while the 10.8-inch iPad might be upgraded from its A10 Fushion Chip.
