ACT Fibernet upgrades existing plans at no extra cost in Chennai, Rs. 1999 plan now offers 200Mbps speed, 2TB FUP

After Bengaluru and Hyderabad, ACT Fibernet has upgraded its plans for Chennai users as well at no extra cost, about 9 months after the last upgrade.  In some plans speeds have also been upgraded, and ACT has also introduced a new Blast Promo plan that offers 100Mbps speed and 1000GB FUP. ACT Fibernet’s Retail 1999 plan now offers 2TB (download+upload) of FUP, and the speed has been upgraded to 200Mbps.

Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 gets a new update with Face unlock, camera improvements and more ahead of sale

Asus launched the  Zenfone Max Pro M1  smartphone last week, and the phone will be available for order in the country from tomorrow, May 3rd, exclusively on Flipkart starting at Rs. 10,999. Today the company has rolled out a new update to review units that brings Face recognition, improves gyroscope and audio as well as improvements to the camera and battery during standby. Xiaomi Mi Music with free Hungama Music streaming, Dynamic lyrics, Mi Video with video content integration officially launched in India

Xiaomi at its Mi POP event in Mumbai officially launched the new Mi Music app with Hungama Music integration. This was rolled out in beta for Xiaomi users back in March. With the partnership, over 10 million tracks will be available for free for streaming across 13 Indian languages as well as international languages.

Government confirms Aadhaar card not mandatory to get mobile SIMs

The Center has announced that Aadhaar card is no longer mandatory for getting a mobile SIM, meaning that telecom operators can now accept another form of verification like driving license, passport, and voter ID card. Telecom Commission approves internet telephony, use of mobile services in flights and ships in India

Telecom Commission on Tuesday has approved the proposal to allow internet telephony in the country as well as in-flight mobile services. With this new approval, users can now make calls to mobile phones as well as landlines using the Wi-Fi broadband. The proposals were approved by the commission chaired by telecom secretary Aruna Sundararajan. ACT Fibernet has revised its plans for its customers in Hyderabad, in just 7 months of last upgrade. It upgraded plans for Bengaluru users last month. ACT Fibernet’s premium 1 Gbps plan now offers 2TB (download+upload) of FUP, but the company has removed 1TB  upload and 1TB download limit. In Bengaluru city, the same ACT Giga plan is now offering 2.5TB FUP for the users. Alongside the ACT Giga plan, it has also upgraded FTTH plans in Hyderabad. OPPO and Amazon India partner to launch Realme smartphone brand, Realme 1 launching on May 15

After teasing a new brand yesterday, Amazon India has officially announced the launch of its new Realme brand in partnership with OPPO. It also said that the first phone – Realme 1 will launch with them exclusively on May 15th. This reveals Black Diamond version of the phone with triangular-cut patterns that shimmer bright and dark shades when seen from different angles, same as the OPPO F7. Last week OPPO introduced  A3 with similar Diamond patterns on the back, so the Realme 1 could be a cheaper version with a similar design. Now you can get JEE Main exam results, GATE, SSC CGL, CAT test dates within Google Search

Google today announced that it has worked with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to launch to make the JEE Main exam results available on the Google Search results page as soon as they are announced. You can just search “JEE Main results”, enter the roll number and date of birth, and the individual results will be displayed.

Reliance Jio reports Rs. 510 crore profit in Q4, has over 186 million customers

Reliance Jio today reported Rs. 7,128 crore revenue, up 3.6 % QoQ and a net profit of 510.44 crore, up 1.2% QoQ for its third quarterly financial performance for the period that ended 31st March, 2018.
