Spice launched the S-580 yesterday. This handset is a great Diwali gift idea from a husband to a wife, boyfriend to girl friend, or dad to daughter.

There is a lot you can do with your Nokia N78. The Sports Tracker is just one of them.
With the Sports Tracker you can map your activity (such as cycling, walking, driving, running etc) through the GPS and position it on Nokia Map. While the activity is ‘on’ you can take pictures that will get tagged on to your route.
This amazing feature will allow you to track your movement in any part of the world on a map (all the while noting details such as speed, altitude, latitude, longitude etc) that you can share with your friends and even other travel enthusiasts such as yourself.

Samsung Omnia FoneArena Exclusive phone footage
On 16th October, 2008, Fonearena was represented by Ritu at the ITC Grand Central, Mumbai where a demo of the Windows Mobile 6.1 on the Samsung Omnia was given to three mobile phone enthusiasts (Ankit Saxena and Rupesh from the WATblog were co-invitees).
Microsoft was represented by Sumeet Gugnani, Director – Mobile Communications Business, who also enlightened the bloggers on the rise of MS in the world of mobile phones.

Google Phone in India for 8200
The HTC G1 or the first Google Android phone has already sold 1 .5 million units (pre-orders)
Its priced at $179 in America and comes with a 2 year contract.
Reports suggest that HTC is in talks with Indian operators to bring the Google Phone to India for as little as Rs.8200 but reports also suggest that the handset could be priced as high as Rs.20000
Anyhow thats much cheaper than the Apple iPhone price which is Rs.30000 approx.

How Nokia might win the Touchscreen War in India !
Ever since Steve Jobs rolled out the iPhone in Jan’07 MacWorld, mobile phone manufacturers were highly uncomfortable of missing the touch screen bandwagon.
The Finnish mobile giant is now armouring its artillery with Nokia 5800 a touch screen gizmo code named “tube”.With just three physical buttons and equipped with 8GB microSD memory card it can be further expanded up to 16GB. Nokia N96 in stores from September 16
The Nokia N96 launched by the company in India recently will be available across stores from September 16th.
Touted to give tough competition to the Apple iPhone, this handset will be available for Rs 35,000. Read Fonearena’s coverage of iPhone Vs N96 here.
At Rs 35,000 it is an expensive phone but with higher features than iPhone which at Rs 32,000 – 36,000 is not cheap either.

Gen X choose functionality over looks
India will soon become a Nation of mobile users. The steadily increasing mobile using population expands due to the ever increasing usage by the youth. A recently completed IDC study confirms that mobile users perceive they derive one of the following sets of benefits from using mobile phones – safety and security, productivity and convenience, or style and status. We spoke to a few from Gen X to find out what their mobiles do for them and what handset models are popular.
Kunal who is a student of Class Xi owns a Nokia 6085. This flip phone has a FM Radio that Kunal really likes. He also likes the look of the handset. To him, it is just a way of keeping in touch with his friends.
Amit has a Nokia 6030 is a handset that supports 10 Indian languages and is an unpretentious handset that has easy-to-use functions. He has opted for BSNL as his service provider because he claims, “Government service is the best.” His mobile is useful to keep in touch with his friends.
