OPPO India has officially announced the upcoming launch of its Reno16 Series, scheduled for July 2, 2026, after teasers. Positioned as an AI camera-focused lineup tailored for younger users, the new series emphasizes an integrated ecosystem for shooting, editing, and sharing content.
The devices run on ColorOS 16 and leverage hardware upgrades alongside proprietary AI intelligence to streamline creative workflows.
Hardware and Imaging Capabilities
The Reno16 Series features a versatile triple-camera configuration designed to accommodate various shooting environments, from wide cityscapes to low-light photography.
Ultra-Clear AI Imaging Systems
The lineup differentiates its hardware across models while maintaining a baseline specification for high-resolution capture:
- OPPO Reno16: Features a 50MP Ultra-Clear Main Camera, a 50MP Ultra-Wide Camera, and a 50MP Ultra-Wide Selfie Camera with a 100-degree field of view. The system is supported by a Dual Flash System to improve low-light performance.
- OPPO Reno16c: Equipped with a similar high-resolution setup including a 50MP Main Camera, an Ultra-Wide Camera, and a 50MP Ultra-Wide Selfie Camera, also backed by the Dual Flash System.
Telephoto Portrait Lens
Central to the series’ photography capabilities is a 50MP 3.5× Telephoto Portrait Camera. Offering a focal length equivalent to a classic 85mm portrait lens, this sensor utilizes optical zoom to deliver sharp, distortion-free images. Video capabilities have been standardized across all primary focal lengths. The ultra-wide, main, and telephoto sensors all support 4K 60fps HDR Video recording simultaneously. To assist mobile creators, the devices feature:

- Zoom Free Video: Minimizes exposure and clarity transitions when switching focal lengths during active recording.

To simplify post-processing and content creation, ColorOS 16 introduces a suite of native editing and shooting features designed to eliminate the need for third-party applications.
- AI Remix Collage: Allows users to select multiple videos, Live Photos, and images from the native gallery to automatically compile them into a cohesive digital collage. Users can add custom text, generate personalized stickers from image cutouts, and apply design outlines.
- Pop Cam: Debuting on the Reno series, this native camera module includes nine distinct aesthetic presets: Basic, Digicam, Instant Film, Light Leak, Warm, Rich, Fresh, Retro, and Airy.
- Popout 2.0: An updated visual effect feature with enhanced animations that allow subjects to visually extend beyond the standard framing. The detection algorithms have been expanded to recognize pets, landmarks, and everyday objects alongside human subjects.
- Dual-View Video 2.0: Enables simultaneous recording from the front and rear cameras with customizable layouts and mid-recording focal length adjustments.
OPPO Bubble: Smart Camera Companion
Alongside the smartphone series, OPPO introduced the OPPO Bubble, a lightweight (27.5g) magnetic accessory designed to serve as a smart camera companion.
