Samsung has sent us an invite for a smartphone launch on Monday, December 23rd, 2013. The invite just says “New GALAXY Smartphone Launch” without giving any hint about the smartphone. Since there are no new smartphones for Samsung to launch in India and it had already released the new Galaxy S Duos 2, it is likely to launch the Grand 2 next week. The Galaxy Grand that was launched earlier this year was one of the popular mid-range smartphone in this year. The Grand 2 with better display, faster processor more RAM and a larger battery would definitely attract more customers in the mid-range segment. BlackBerry opens its first Enterprise Solutions Centres in India in Mumbai and Gurgaon
BlackBerry today opened the first Enterprise Solutions Centers in Mumbai and Gurgaon in India. This will be the third country to roll-out a BlackBerry Enterprise Solutions Centre after US and UK. These centers will cater to the needs of enterprise customers and provide them with a walk-in experience of BlackBerry’s robust enterprise mobility management solutions including BES10, says the company. Nokia Lumia 525 Hands On
Nokia announced the Lumia 525 sometime back last month and basically, it was a Lumia 520 with a very slightly different design and 1 GB of RAM. The Lumia 525 is primarily for addressing the low RAM issue on Windows Phones. Phones with 512 MB of RAM, like the Lumia 520, were not allowed to download some apps and games from the Windows Phone Store because of them demanding more resources. This was partly solved with more optimizations from the developers’ side, but we still see a lot of new apps and games releasing with the limitation, so Nokia simply went the other way and updated the 520 with 1 GB of RAM, and that’s exactly the reason why 525 exists. It was revealed at an event in Goa today that the Lumia 525 will be arriving to India during the first week of January 2014. The Lumia 520 is already the best selling Windows Phone in India and we hope the 525 directly replaces it. Xolo launched the Q2000 with a 5.5-inch HD screen, now the Q3000 with a 5.7-inch Full HD screen has been spotted on Flipkart. It has a 5.7-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display, powered by 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589T processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Nokia has just announced the Lumia 525 in India at the 6th Annual Strategy Sharing Summit in Goa. The Lumia 525 is the successor of the most popular Lumia 520, which is the cheapest Lumia smartphone. Main upgrade is the RAM, which has been upgraded from 512MB to 1GB. It was unveiled last month and has a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) IPS display at 235 ppi, super sensitive touch for finger nail and glove use and is powered by a 1 GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 processor. Vodafone India today launched Vodafone Music, the company’s new music service that enables users stream, share and download music and watch music videos at a nominal cost. Vodafone has also launched an Android app that lets users listen, explore and download audio and video songs. This subscription-based service for Vodafone users comes in daily, weekly and monthly packs. The music service is powered by Hungama with a vast collection of songs in various genres and languages. The Nokia Lumia 1520 just launched a couple of days back in India for a price of Rs. 46,999/- after launching internationally in Abu Dhabi back in October. Being the company’s first phablet sized device with a 6 inch 1080p screen, it also naturally is the first Windows Phone with a full HD resolution and quad core innards. With these specs and more, the platform finally comes to parity with Android in the mobile space, at least in the hardware department. Software too has seen small changes with an additional column, upping the information density to a higher level than before.
