vivo Buds with Bluetooth 6.1, up to 50h total playback launched in India

vivo India has officially introduced the vivo Buds, entering the budget wireless audio segment with an emphasis on extended battery performance, low-latency connectivity, and ecosystem integration.

Acoustic Architecture and Audio Customization

The vivo Buds are built around a 10mm high-resolution speaker driver that pairs flexible polyurethane (PU) with Polyether Ether Ketone (PEEK). This composite construction is designed to minimize acoustic distortion while preserving frequency response across highs, mids, and bass.

On the software front, the earbuds provide several audio personalization options:

  • Sound Profiles: Presets include Mega Bass, Clear Voice, Clear High Pitch, and a dedicated Audiobook mode.
  • Equalization: A manual 10-band equalizer allows users to adjust frequency bands.
  • Spatial Audio: Compatible vivo smartphones support spatial processing across four environment modes: Theater, Concert Hall, Studio, and Live Concert.
Call Quality and Hardware Design

Voice calls are managed through a dual-microphone setup running AI-assisted noise cancellation algorithms. The system processes incoming audio to filter ambient disruptions—such as sudden honking and background noise—while isolating vocal frequencies.

To mitigate wind interference, vivo implemented a physical cross-flow duct design that diverts airflow away from the microphone inlets, supplemented by an internal deceleration chamber.

Each earbud weighs approximately 3.8 grams and features silicone ear tips modeled on ergonomic ear-impression data to provide a stable seal. The earbuds also carry an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance.

Connectivity and Gaming Performance

Operating on Bluetooth 6.1 alongside a revised antenna configuration, the vivo Buds maintain connection stability and support dual-device multipoint pairing across smartphones, tablets, and PCs. For mobile gaming, the earbuds feature a dedicated low-latency mode rated at 42ms.

Navigation is handled via customizable touch sensors supporting double-tap, triple-tap, and long-press inputs. On compatible vivo devices running OriginOS, the earbuds integrate system-level controls without requiring a standalone companion app, offering direct access to EQ settings, remote camera shutter control, and a “Find My” tracking utility. Opening the case near compatible vivo phones triggers a pet-themed pop-up pairing prompt.
