Samsung launched the Galaxy Beam (GT-i8530) with a pico projector in India in July. It was announced at MWC 2012 earlier this year. Even though the main feature of this phone is the projector, it packs in powerful specs including a 4.0-inch 480×800 (WVGA) TFT display, 1 GHz Dual-Core Processor and is just 12.5 mm thick. Motorola Atrix 2 Android 4.0 update starts rolling out in India

Sony Xperia miro up for pre-order in India for Rs. 14499

Sony Xperia miro is now available for pre-order from online retailer Flipkart in India. It was announced in June and packs in a 3.5-inch (320×480 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen display, 800 MHz processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Samsung Galaxy Note 800 Unboxing

Here is the unboxing of the Galaxy Note 800, Samsung’s latest tablet that launched in India in August. It packs in a 10.1-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) TFT display, 1.4 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It also comes with a stylus called S Pen. It has a SIM card slot, microSD card slot and has support for voice calls. It has 5 Megapixel Auto Focus Camera at the back with LED Flash and a 1.9 Megapixel front-facing camera. Sony Xperia tipo Unboxing

Here is the unboxing of the Xperia tipo, Sony’s first affordable smartphone running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It was announced in June along with the tipo dual, the Dual-SIM variant. It packs in a a 3.2-inch (480 x 320 pixels) 262k color TFT display and is powered by a 800 MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Samsung Galaxy S III spare battery now available in Retail Stores in India


Samsung Mobile India launched the Galaxy S III, the flagship Smartphone in India in late May, 2012. Samsung has announced that most of the accessories for Galaxy SIII will be available along with the phone in retail market. Accessories like additional battery ( 2100 mAh with NFC) was not available till now. TRAI issues guidelines to service providers to prevent missed calls from International numbers


The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued direction to service providers regarding provision of ISD facility to prepaid subscribers to curb international missed calls, calls from international numbers on winning of prizes or lottery and inform customers through SMS at periodic intervals not to respond to missed calls from unknown international numbers. Samsung Galaxy SIII in Garnet Red now available in stores in India.

At IFA2012 Samsung Mobile announced four more colours for Samsung Galaxy SIII, mainly Garnet Red, Sapphire Black, Amber Brown and Titanium Gray. Samsung Mobile India has launched Garnet Red version of Galaxy SIII (16GB) in India on Samsung e-store. It is now also available in Samsung premium and flagship stores as well local stores in India. The MRP of Garnet Red SIII is same as other 16GB variants which is Rs.42,500 and it’s retail price is around Rs. 37,500. Similar to blue and white, this variant has its packaging in Red. Aircel launches Pocket Buddies pack with SMS and Unlimited data starting at Rs. 22

Aircel has launched a new pack called Pocket Buddies – Srf n Txt, that offers unlimited surfing and texting at a low price. INTEX 3.5G USB data card launched for Rs. 1800

INTEX has launched their first 3.5G data card in India. It offers high-speed 3G wireless connectivity with download speeds up to 7.2 Mbps and up to 5.76 Mbps upload speeds. Samsung Galaxy S Duos and Galaxy Y Duos Lite launched in India for Rs. 17900 and Rs. 6990

Samsung has launched the Galaxy S Duos and the Galaxy Y Duos Lite, Dual SIM phones in India. The Galaxy S Duos was announced last month and the Galaxy Y Duos Lite would launch in some European countries as Galaxy Pocket Duos. The Galaxy S Duos comes with a 4.0-inch WVGA (480×800) capacitive touch screen display, 1 GHz processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The Galaxy Y Duos Lite comes with similar features as the Galaxy Pocket, other than the Dual SIM (GSM + GSM) support. It has a 2.8-inch (240 x 320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It is powered by a 832MHz processor and has a 2MP fixed focus camera at the back.

Google Maps for Android gets Voice guided turn-by-turn Navigation and Live Traffic in India

Google has started rolling out 2 new features, Voice guided turn-by-turn Navigation and Live Traffic updates for the Google Maps for Android in India. The Voice guided turn-by-turn Navigation would be helpful while driving or walking. You can click the navigate button after you request for a destination. You can also turn the voice navigation off or select alternative routes. This feature was introduced back in 2009.
