Microsoft India is currently rolling out a minor software update to select Lumia devices to support 4G LTE networks. As Airtel continues to roll out its 4G service across the country Microsoft saw the need to enable 4G radios on devices which have the functionality built into the hardware but lacked the necessary software. The Microsoft Lumia 940 and 940 XL rumours are slowly gaining traction. the last rumour was a leak that confirmed the existence of a Quad HD Windows phone which is most likely the 940 XL and a smaller 1080p smartphone which should be the 940. A new report now suggests that both the 940 XL as well as the 940 will sport polycarbonate bodies and will be priced higher than the Apple iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy S6.
Microsoft’s recent job cutting has been a hot topic of discussion online for all the wrong reasons. However CEO Satya Nadella also mentioned that they are planning to streamline their devices into 3 categories from now on.
Microsoft has launched new Skype for Business app for Windows Phone. Prior to this Skype for Business could be accessed through the Lync 2013 app, but now Skype for Business is getting its own dedicated Windows Phone app.
