Sony Xperia T and Xperia V Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update starts rolling out


Sony Mobile has finally started rolling out the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update for the 2012 Xperia devices starting from the Xperia T (9.1.A.0.489) and the Xperia V (v 9.1.A.0.490), as they promised. The Sony Xperia TX would get the update next month. The company confirmed Jelly Bean update for range of 2012 Xperia devices back in October. Ubuntu Smartphone Devices to Ship Starting October 2013

The Ubuntu operating system for Smartphones was recently unveiled with its radical UI and user experience getting much praise and accolade from the tech press. We took a hands on look at the Ubuntu OS running on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, at the International CES 2013 and we were quite impressed with it. Canonical inc., the minds behind the OS promised to bring a very similar experience from the desktop Ubuntu OS that is widely installed by various classes of consumers, to the smartphone experience. And they have just done that, with the Ubuntu for Smartphones. While we got to know about the software, the hardware was literally non existent at the OS launch, but that might be fixed real soon with Canonical CEO Mark Shuttleworth promising devices as early as October 2013.

HTC Butterfly vs Nokia Lumia 920

The HTC Butterfly launched very recently in India for a price of Rs.45,990, making it one of the costliest phones to buy here. You might have read our review of the HTC Butterfly, with a large emphasis on it being the first smartphone to sport a 1920×1080 screen in India. BBC Sport app for iPhone launched globally

BBC international has launched their official BBC Sport application for iPhone. It offers Sports news, live scores, stats, commentary and analysis on-the-go. It was first launched for UK, and aims at offering football scores including starting line-ups, match stats, live text commentary and the post-match report. Karbonn Smart A111 with 5-inch display, 1.2 GHz dual-core processor now available for Rs. 10290

Karbonn Smart A111, a new dual SIM Android Smartphone is now available from online retailer Flipkart. It has a 5-inch (480 x 800 pixels) capacitive touch screen display. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), similar to Karbonn A21 and A9+, that were launched last year. It has a 5MP auto focus camera at the back and a front-facing camera.

JBL Lightning-equipped Audio Docks available in India starting from February

JBL has announced that their new range of Lightning-equipped Audio Docks for Apple devices including the iPhone 5, the iPad 4th Generation and the iPad mini would go on sale in India starting from this month. These audio docks include, the JBL OnBeat Micro, JBL OnBeat Mini, JBL OnBeat Venue LT and the JBL OnBeat Rumble. JBL is one of the first company to launch the audio docks with lightning support, and they have managed to sell over 250 thousand units of these audio docks worldwide. HCL officially launched the ME V1, the company’s latest Android tablet in the ME series along with the ME U1 and ME Y3. Here we have a hands-on photos of the tablet. It went on sale in India last month, and features a 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Samsung has announced two new Android Smartphones, the Galaxy Young and the Galaxy Fame. These smartphones are powered by a 1 GHz processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). The Galaxy Young has a 3.27-inch ( 480 × 320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and the Galaxy Fame has a 3.5-inch ( 480 × 320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display. The Galaxy Young has a 3MP rear camera, while the Galaxy Fame comes with a 5MP auto focus camera with LED Flash and a VGA front-facing camera. Microsoft Research releases Blink burst image lens app for Windows Phone 8 devices

Microsoft Research has released Blink for Windows Phone 8 device that would let you capture a burst of images. It uses Advanced image stabilization technology from Microsoft Research removes camera shake and lets you focus on the important parts of the scene. Since this is a camera lens app just like the Bing Vision and the recently updated Bing Translator, you can easily launch it quickly when you launch the camera. Micromax A89 Ninja, a new Android smartphone in the Ninja series is now on sale in India from online retailer Flipkart.
