Xiaomi plans to expand beyond China – Singapore first, hopefully India next?

Xiaomi, the company that was recently in the news for insane flash sales and earlier, for the hire of Android VP Hugo Barra, has laid out plans to expand beyond China. Singapore is one of the first markets in which Xiaomi is targeting for its full fledged operations, as a part of its expansion to South East Asia. Hugo Barra was appointed as the company’s VP of global operations and it seems like his work is now in full swing. Xiaomi’s top executives were recently in Taiwan for a fan gathering, addressing their huge fan base with quizzes, oversized T-Shirts and even a performance from Hugo Barra, who sang and danced to a popular Taiwanese song!

Gionee Pioneer P3 with 4.3-inch display, 1.3 GHz quad-core processor launched for Rs. 7499

Gionee has launched the Pioneer P3, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone in India, as we reported last week. It has a 4.3-inch (800 x 480 pixels) display, powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). Xolo A600 is a budget Android smartphone from Xolo and comes with budget specifications. Xolo A600 is powered by a new dual-core mid-range processor from MediaTek and has a 4.5inch qHD display. Like most budget Android smartphones, the Xolo A600 comes with a dual-SIM support. The camera on the Xolo A600 is slightly a disappointment as we have only a 5MP sensor at the back and a 0.3MP front facing camera.

Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 Camera Samples

Samsung Galaxy S Duos was very popular phone in 2012 and at the end of 2013, Samsung have announced a successor – Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2. Galaxy S Duos 2 takes up the job of being a budget smartphone and at the same time, providing Samsung’s TouchWiz UI along with average specifications. The camera on Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 has not changed and it still has the same 5MP sensor. However, thanks to an updated processor, Galaxy S Duos 2 is capable of recording 720p videos.

Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 Benchmarks

Samsung launched the Galaxy S Duos 2, the latest smartphone in the Galaxy series, and the successor of the Galaxy S Duos in India earlier this week. We already brought you the unboxing of the device, here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. The device is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Broadcom BCM21664T processor based on ARM Cortex-A9 CPU and VideoCore 4 GPU. The chip supports 3G HSPA+ connectivity up to 21 Mbps. It has a 4.0-inch (480×800 pixels) capacitive touch screen display at 233 ppi pixel density. It has 768MB of RAM and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). Xolo launched the A600, a mid-range smartphone in the A series last month. We brought you the unboxing recently, here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572W processor with Mali 400MP GPU. It comes with a 4.5-inch (960 x 540 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display at 245 ppi, runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and packs 512MB of RAM.
