Spice Mi-270 becomes the cheapest Android phone in India at Rs. 3399

Spice Mi-270 has seen a major price cut and is now available in India for Rs. 3399 . This makes it the cheapest Dual SIM Android phone in the market till date. It was launched last year for Rs. 6499. This has Dual-SIM support with standby and has 2.8-inch (240 x 320 pixels ) resistive touch screen display, 416MHz processor, 2MP camera and runs on Android v2.2 (Froyo). Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro price drops to Rs. 19999


Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro has seen a price drop in India, which is now available for Rs. 19,999. The Xperia Pro is a QWERTY slider phone which was unveiled at MWC 2011 earlier this year and Sony Ericsson launched the Xperia Pro in India last October for Rs. 24,000. It features a 3.7 inch (854 x 480 Pixels) touchscreen display and full slide out QWERTY keypad. It packs a 8.1 MP camera with LED Flash and secondary VGA camera on the back. Wikipedia app now available for Android

Wikipedia app is finally available for Android. This would let the users search articles nearby, share articles using Android Share function, read article in a different language and more. This official app by Wikimedia Foundation is already available for iPhone. The iPhone app has also received updates such as geo service for near by and some crash and bug fixes. Samsung Galaxy ACE White Hands-On Pictures

I recently had opportunity to play with Samsung GALAXY ACE White edition which launched in India recently with Android 2.3.5. Here are some hands-on pictures for all FoneArena readers. Enjoy….

 

 

ACE in white looks quite stunning. Now its preloaded with Android 2.3.5 which provides performance boost to the ACE. It is quite smooth and snappy out of the box compared to Android 2.2 (Froyo). Other that the software it is similar to the black version of the Galaxy Ace The current MOP of ACE White edition is Rs. 14500/- in Mumbai, India.

Motorola MOTOLUXE on pre-order in UK, Shipping late February or early March

Motorola MOTOLUXE  is now available for pre-order in UK. Motorola announced the MOTOLUXE  along with the Motorola DEFY MINI last week. Clove UK started taking pre-orders for the Motorola DEFY MINI yesterday and now they have announced that Motorola MOTOLUXE is also available for pre-order. Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman launched in India with offers for Aircel customers


Sony Ericsson has launched the Live with Walkman in India. This is the successor of the Walkman W8 and Mix Walkman and features dedicated Walkman hardware button and it also comes with . It has 3.2-inch (320 x 480 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen display, 1 GHz Qualcomm Scorpion processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It was available for pre-order last month from online  retailers last month and available for purchase later. Motorola DEFY MINI up for pre-order in UK for £174.99


Motorola announced the DEFY MINI, rugged Android phone earlier this month. Clove UK has announced that it is available for pre-order and would ship at the end of February or early March. The DEFY MINI is Dustproof and water-resistant and has 3.2-inch touchscreen Corning GorillaGlass display, 600MHz processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). HUAWEI IDEOS X3 Hands-On Pictures

Recently we were invited for a HUAWEI Blogger’s Meet in Mumbai and were shown 3 recently launched HUAWEI Android devices. Here are the hands-on photos of IDEOS X3.

HUAWEI IDEOS X3 is another entry level 3G Android Gingerbread device launched in India for Rs. 9990/- (MOP). It has 3.2” TFT LCD HVGA display and powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 SOC (System on Chip) running at 600MHz. IDEOS X3 has a 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM. This device is actually unique as even it is a entry level Android smartphone, X3 has a premium design with curved body and nice soft touch matt plastic covering all back side of the device. Overall the device feels quite solid in hand.  The X3 has VGA FFC (Front Facing Camera) for Internet Video Calls. The display is quite bright and due to its size (3.2”) and HVGA resolution it was quite sharp for our eyes. The X3 has 3.2MP Fixed Focus main camera without LED Flash. Motorola DEFY+ JCB Edition launched in UK

Motorola has launched the JCB Edition of the DEFY+, rugged Android phone. They announced the DEFY+ last August and launched last September. This JDB edition has visco-elastic protective sleeve from JCB that are capable to withstand extremely demanding conditions and rugged outdoors. The feature are similar such as 3.7-inch (854 × 480 pixels) capactive touch screen display 1 GHz processor and Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) Operating System. Samsung Galaxy S2 WiMAX launched in Japan

Samsung has launched the Galaxy S2 with WiMAX support for KDDI au in Japan. They have already launched the LTE version in Korea and USA. This CDMA phone comes with a 4.7-inch HD (1280 x 720) Super AMOLED Plus display, 1.4GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It is about 9.5mm thick and weighs 139g. Notion Ink releases Android 4.0.3 Alpha ROM for Adam

 

Notion Ink has released the Android 4.0.3 Alpha ROM for the Adam tablet. They teased ICS on the Adam last month. They have fixed most of the bugs such as Audio, Sensors, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, SD Card Mount, GPS and it also has Hardware Acceleration in this Alpha version. Sony Xperia S up for pre-order in UK, arriving in March


Sony Xperia S that was announced last week at CES 2012 and the first Android phone under the Sony brand is now available for pre-order in UK from online retailer Clove. The Sony Xperia S comes with 4.3 inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine, 12MP camera with LED flash with full 1080p HD video recording,  1.3MP front-facing camera with 720p recording, 1.5GHz dual-core processor and Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS that is upgradable to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) in Q2 2012.
