T-Mobile and Sprint have said they have ceased discussions to merge into a single entity since they could not find mutually agreeable terms. Both the companies have been open to idea of merging for the past few years. Back in September there were reports of talks of merger, later in October new reports said that the companies might announce a merger by the end of the month, but Sprint eventually pulled out due to ownership concerns.

Airtel today announced that the iPhone X will go on sale on Airtel’s Online Store starting 6.00 pm, November 3, 2017. It will be available exclusively to Airtel postpaid customers as an unlocked device on a first come first serve and full payment basis, till stocks last, said Airtel. It will also deliver the phone in 21 cities across India free of charge to customers’ doorstep. The company did not introduce any special plans for the iPhone X.

Reliance Communications (RCOM) today announced that it has completed merger transaction with Sistema’s Indian wireless business, carried on by Sistema Shyam Teleservices Ltd. (SSTL) under the MTS brand. The deal was announced back in 2015 and it was decently approved by Department of Telecommunications (DOT) last week. Reliance Jio’s VoLTE feature phone – JioPhone which was launched back in July went on sale in India in August. The JioPhone is powered by KaiOS, and now the production of the JioPhone has been kept on hold, according to a new report. It is heard that the company is in talks to bring out an Android-based phone.

Reliance Communications (RCOM) called off the merger with Maxis Communications Berhad (MCB), promoters of Aircel earlier this month. Today multiple reports say that the company will shut down its 2G business by November 30th citing “creative destruction” by Reliance Jio. The company this week confirmed that it will be shutting down its direct to home (DTH) business Reliance Digital TV from 18 November due to the expiry of its DTH licence.
