Last month we reported that HTC would launch the Dual SIM variant of the HTC One soon. The phone went on sale online last month, Now HTC and Tata Docomo has partnered to launch the phone in India officially, calling it HTC One Dual SIM +. The company says that this is the first Android phone launched in India which offers CDMA and UMTS dual SIM capability. It has similar features as the HTC One single-SIM variant including a 4.7 inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display,  1.7 GHz quad-core processor,  Android Jelly Bean with Sense 5, UltraPixel camera with LED Flash and a 2.1MP HD front-facing camera. HTC Butterfly S now available online in India for Rs. 52428

HTC Butterfly S appeared on the official HTC India website back in July. Now the phone is available in India from online retailer Saholic.  HTC announced the Butterfly S back in June. It packs a 5.0-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Super LCD 3 display display with 440ppi with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, powered by a 1.9 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor with Adreno 320 GPU and runs on Android 4.2.2 Jellybean with HTC Sense 5.0. It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Micromax launched the Micromax A110Q Canvas 2 Plus recently, and this one lies between the A110Q and the A116 Canvas HD. Intex launched the Aqua i7, the company’s flagship Android smartphone at an event earlier today. Now the Aqua HD, a new smartphone has appeared on the official website. It has a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589 processor and runs on Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. This would compete with the iBall Andi 4.7G Cobalt since both have similar features. It has a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has Matrabhasha a multi-lingual application introduced with the entry-level phones recently. It lets users operate the phone in preferred regional language supporting upto 22 regional languages. Lava E-Tab Velo+, a new tablet in the Lava’s E-Tab range is now available in India from online retailer Snapdeal. It has a has a 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capactive multi-touch display, powered by a 1 GHz Cortex A8 processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean), similar to the recently launched XTRON+. It has a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera, but lacks a rear camera. It doesn’t have a SIM card slot or voice calling capabilities, but supports dongles. iBall Andi 4.7G Cobalt Review

iBall has launched a lot of Android smartphones in India for a while now and it is yet to make the mark that others like Micromax or Karbonn have been able to make. Things could change very soon for Mumbai based iBall with the launch of their recent iBall Andi 4.7G Cobalt.

The iBall Andi 4.7G Cobalt has the right mixture of specifications and pricing to make it a successful, but only if people knew of its existence. It is a typical mid-range phablet that has the specifications and pricing resembling other devices, but is different in its own way. The Micromax Canvas Fun A63 has appeared on the official Micromax website. It has a 4-inch (480 x 800 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen display and a 2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. Other features are mostly similar to the Canvas Fun A74.

Intex to launch a new smartphone next week, hints at next-gen Wonder series phone

Intex has just sent out a media invite for the launch of next-gen premium smartphone. The phone would be launched by their brand ambassador, director and actor Farhan Akthar. The press invite says “Gorge your eyes on the newest wonder in town” which hints at a new smartphone in the Wonder series. The Intex Aqua Wonder smartphone was launched earlier this year, the successor Aqua Wonder Quadcore with a quad-core processor was launched in April. Micromax and Karbonn take top positions as the Indian Smartphone market surges ahead with the Phablet revolution

You might have seen us reporting on various marketshare reports each month coming from a company called IDC. Usually, the company provides a wider perspective of the global market for mobile phones as well as smartphones, but this time, they have focused on the second fastest growing mobile phone market in the world, India. We saw in June that the overall shipments of Smartphones in India was at just 6.1 million devices, but in a quarter, it has risen to 9.3 million shipments, according to IDC. And over half of the shipments were from local players like Micromax, Karbonn and the others, with the former taking the no. 2 and 3 positions of the Top 5 Smartphone vendors in the Indian market respectively.
