Sony releases the WG-C20, a more portable 2nd gen Wireless Server for your Smartphone

Remember the crazy WCG-10 wireless server from Sony? They have released a successor to it, but it now looks a lot slimmer, just like the Xperia devices, and it can now charge them too! Funnily enough, at first glance, one would think it is actually the back of a Xperia device. A quick recap of what it does is, it’s a portable solution that can connect wirelessly to your smartphone and back-up files, or even let you access the files already in the server and play it back. Asus has announced the Fonepad 7, successor of the Fonepad at the IFA 2013 in Berlin. It comes with a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display with new smudge-resistant coating to prevent fingerprints, runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and is powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor with Hyper-Threading technology. It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with 1080p full HD video recording and a 1.2 MP front-facing camera. It has metallic finish and comes with 3G HSPA+ 3G with up to 42Mbit/s download speeds with voice calling features. Sony Xperia Z1 with 5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 800 processor, 20.7 MP camera announced

Sony Xperia Z1 Sony has just announced the Xperia Z1, the company’s latest flagship phone at the IFA 2013. It has a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Triluminos Display with with X-Reality engine that would offer rich, natural colours, powered by 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Sony G lens with a 27mm wide angle f/2.0 aperture custom 1/2.3″ Sony Exmor RS image sensor, BIONZ image processing engine, , 1080p video recording and a 2-megapixel 1080p front-facing camera. Alcatel refreshes the One Touch series with super thin Idol Alpha, Idol S and Idol Mini smartphones

Alcatel, the French company well known for its Enterprise level communications equipment is also responsible for some of the consumer facing devices in the One Touch range of Android Smartphones. After launching the One Touch Idol X, the flagship of the portfolio, the company has also released three other phones in all sizes and prices. The three new phones that have launched in the One Touch series are the Idol Alpha, the Idol S and the Idol Mini. This is along with the new Phablet and the Tablet from the same series.

Alcatel One Touch has announced the One Touch Idol X, the company’s latest flagship smartphone. It has a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) 2.4mm edge-to-edge capacitive touch screen IPS display with 170 degrees wide viewing angles. The display is based on one-glass solution (OGS) that reduces the phone’s thickness and has Dragontrail Glass for protection. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13.1-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 5cm macro lens, 1080p video recording and a 2-megapixel 1080p front-facing camera. Asus Fonepad 7 video ad surfaces ahead of IFA announcement

Asus had introduced the original Fonepad at MWC 2013 earlier this year and the Fonepad saw a slight bump in the specifications sometime during summer. Asus just posted and removed a video ad for the yet another refresh of the Fonepad.

Sony IFA 2013 Press Conference Live Blog

FoneArena is live in Berlin , Germany for IFA which is one of the largest technology shows of the world. Sony is holding a press conference later today where the company is expected to announce the much rumored Honami / XPERIA Z1 smartphone and a couple of very interesting lenses. Much is already known about the Sony Z1 and it is said to pack in a Snapdragon 800 processor with a very interesting 20MP camera. The design is believed to be a play on that of the Xperia Z and Z Ultra.

FoneArena is at IFA 2013 in Berlin , Germany where a lot of new products are going to announced including the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Sony XPERIA Z1. You are going to see a lot of content from IFA on both our main blog and the tech blog throughout this week as we are working hard to bring you the best news from Berlin. Acer Iconia A3 with 10.1-inch HD display, quad-core processor, Android 4.2 announced

Acer announced the Iconia A1 tablet with a 7.9 inch display back in May, now it has announced the Iconia A3 tablet with a 10.1-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS diplay. The Iconia A3 is also powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core cortex A7 processor (probably MediaTek) and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera and a front-facing camera. It comes in Wi-Fi-only and 3G + WiFi variants. It has Dolby Digital Plus that would offer 5.1 channel surround experience over headphones. No word on RAM and the battery capacity yet. Acer has announced the Liquid S2, successor of the Liquid S1 that was unveiled back in June. The Acer Liquid S2 would be the first phone to record videos at 4K Ultra HD resolution with it’s 13-megapixel rear camera that has a LED ring flash. It has a 6-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels), IPS display at 368 PPI, powered by a 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). It also has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera with-wide angle lens and 1080p full HD video recording. The Acer Float UI allows several Float app windows to stay open for better multitasking. LG G Pad 8.3 announced with Full HD display, Snapdragon 600 processor

LG had been teasing an upcoming tablet known as the G Pad 8.3 and today in Seoul , the company has finally taken the wraps of the LG G Pad 8.3 Android tablet and it does look like the big brother of the LG G2 smartphone which debuted recently. The GPad will be showcased at IFA 2013 in Berlin this week and true to its name it packs a 8.3 inch display with a massive 1920×1200 resolution similar to the resolution of the screen on the new Nexus 7 2013. On the inside it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 Quadcore Processor running at 1.7GHz. LG has managed to pack a 4600 mAh battery into this device which is only about 8.3 mm thick and still weighs only about 338 grams. It runs on Android 4.2.2
