Xiaomi just launched the Redmi Y1, the company’s latest budget smartphone in the new ‘Redmi Y’ series in India, as it had promised. As expected, it is the re-branded Redmi Note 5A smartphone that was introduced in China in August. It has a 5.5-inch HD screen, is powered by Snapdragon 435 Mobile Platform, runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) with MIUI on top, packs a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash for both. Xiaomi officially announced the latest version of its popular android skin MIUI along with Mi 5X back in July, Redmi Note 4 was amongst the first devices to receive MIUI 9 based Global beta ROM update on 11 Aug, and Xiaomi rolled out Global Beta ROM to all devices by Sep end in three batches. Xiaomi announced the latest iteration of its android skin on 25th July in an event in China with new features like Smart Assistant, Split Screen and Universal Image Search. MIUI 9 Global Beta ROM started rolling out to Global ROM users on 11th July but many of these features were exclusive to MIUI China ROM till now. Xiaomi launched the Mi Max 2 smartphone with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage in India back in July for Rs. 16999. Last month it launched the 32GB storage version of the phone in the country for Rs. 14,999 and it offered it at an introductory price of Rs. 12999. Xiaomi’s MIUI is amongst the most popular android skins with more than 200 million worldwide users. Xiaomi just sent out invites for the launch of a new series on November 2nd. The company has also tweeted from its Redmi India handle with “Your best self is within you!” and #YourBestSelfie hashtag so it will likely be the top-end version of the Redmi Note 5A with a 16-megapixel front-facing camera that was introduced back in August.

Xiaomi smartphone with codename MET7/MEE7 showed up on TENAA yesterday showing the design of the phone with a full-screen 18:9 display, unibody metal design, camera bump and a fingerprint sensor on the back. Now the smartphone, which is expected to be Redmi Note 5 has been certified revealing complete specifications of the phone. It doesn’t reveal the processor, but it is rumored to be Snapdragon 630.

Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 5A back in August this year. Now a new smartphone with codename MET7 has been listed on TENAA, which is expected to be Redmi Note 5. This shows the phone’s full-screen 18:9 display, unibody metal design, camera bump and a fingerprint sensor on the back. It doesn’t show dual rear cameras as rumored earlier, but there could be a Redmi Note 5 Pro or Plus version.

Xiaomi launched the Mi A1 smartphone in India last month f or Rs. 14999. We already brought you the review of the phone, here we have the battery life test results of the phone. It packs a 3080mAh (typical) / 3000mAh built-in battery, but lacks support for fast charging. It has a 5-inch HD display, is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor and runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 (Nougat). After Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, Chennai and Hyderabad, Xiaomi has opened its first Mi Home Store in Mumbai, which is located at Phoenix Market City Mall. The store was inaugurated by founders of Poorvika Mobile. This is the Eighth Mi Home Store in the country after after three Stores in Bengaluru, one in Gurugram, Noida, Chennai and Hyderabad. As it had promised back in May, it now has stores in major Indian cities.
