It has a 5-inch HD screen, has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF), resulting in a quick focus of just 0.1 second and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, similar to the Redmi 3, but this has is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 430 SoC and comes in 2GB of RAM with 16GB storage or 3GB of RAM with 32GB storage variants. Xiaomi Mi 5 now available from Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal and Tata CLiQ in India

Xiaomi Mi 5 went on open sale in India through Mi.com earlier this month, along with the Redmi Note 3. Now the flagship smartphone is available for purchase from Amazon.in, Flipkart, Snapdeal and Tata CLiQ in the country online without registrations. Xiaomi Mi Community for India launching this month, beta test registration begins

Xiaomi is all set to launch its Mi Community in India on on June 20th. This will allow MI customers to share their feedback, participate in contests, take part in launch events in India and more easily. Xiaomi has already started beta test registrations, which will begin on June 14th. 500 Mi Community beta testers will get early access to new forum for Mi fans in India and other goodies.

These have almost similar specifications as the Redmi 3 and also includes a fingerprint sensor on the back. Xiaomi withdraws request for exemption over 30% local sourcing condition

Xiaomi had applied to Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) for opening single brand retail stores in India in March. Now the Chinese smartphone maker has withdrawn its request seeking complete exemption from the mandatory 30 per cent local sourcing norms for single brand retail stores, according to latest PTI report.

Xiaomi to buy 1500 patents from Microsoft, preload Office and Skype on its devices

Microsoft and Xiaomi have entered into a cross-license and patent transfer agreement. As a part of the deal, Xiaomi is acquiring 1,500 patents from Microsoft and will pre-load Microsoft Office and Skype apps on its Android smartphones and tablets. This is a part of Microsoft’s revised mobile strategy which focuses on getting its software and services onto iOS and Android devices instead of focusing on Windows devices alone. Xiaomi Mi 5 and Redmi Note 3 will go on open sale in India from June 1

Xiaomi launched the Mi 5 smartphone in India for Rs. 24,999 back in March, which went on sale through flash sale starting from April 6th. Today the company has announced that the phone will be available through open sale starting from June 1st starting from 10AM through the Mi India website. Both the variants of the Redmi Note 3 will also go on open sale in India through Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal at the same time. Xiaomi today introduced Mi Drone, it’s first UAV in an online event in China. It is made by Mi Ecosystem’s company Flymi and the CEO of the company is Cai Wei who has 7 years of experience dealing with drone. The Drone has a compact lightweight body since it is made of polycarbonate and carbon fiber. The high-end version has a 12-megapixel Sony Exmor R BSI sensor, f/2.8 aperture, 6P lenses, 94-degree field of view, three-axis image stabilization with the gimbal and has 4K video recording at 30 fps and RAW image capture and has transmission distance of up to 2 kilometers. The other version has a 16.35MP CMOS sensor with f /2.6 aperture, 104-degree field of view, up to 1080p video recording at 60fps and has transmission distance of up to 1 kilometer.
